ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

From 6pm tonight on channel 7 news, news story will screen on South East Queensland downhill skate community versus local councils, who want to ban the sport completely (Mostly Gold Coast City councillor Chris Robbins), will feature Jason Wright, Steve Daddow, 4 year old Linky, and more...

Not sure of what kind of negative or positive spin they (Channel 7) will put on it, but the debate is on... will see when it airs...

I saw something being advertised.
Im not sure its gonna be good.
Bad press may hurt for a little bit but overall any news is good news.
Councils and local governments are not going to do much untill they see a problem.First they will try to stop it then when they realise that thats not working then they may try to make it safer.
Thats the way i see it anyway
Any chance of someone being able to record it and post it up somewhere?
yes that would be good!
would like to see it but ill be out

im not sure but most major news networks have their stories available on their website for a while after they are aired
It's on commercial news. Not likely to be good press - that wouldn't be sensationalistic enough. Could be worse, though - could be on Today Tonight or similar TV-for-halfwits show.
I'll try and record it.

I thought it WAS on today tonight :?
someone please record and post.

remember - stay positive, stay calm, stay rational. don't let em razz you up.
if its on today tonight its going to be a beat up, hopefully its not, just stay calm boys and dont say anything off hand
It's on the news, not today tonight.... they just had a live to air advert on chan seven 5 mins ago, mentioned that the council supported the early skateboards junior skate day last year but now wants it banned. The guy on the news said something like "The Gold Coast Council wants it banned, yet they were teaching the kids how to do it" looks like a little bit of a beat up, but not necessarily one sided....
is it just airing in qld or in nsw as well?
Just QLD as far as I know, but yes, I will def be capturing the story off the digital set top and posting it shortly after.... If you get PRIME on the North coast NSW it might be on that too, maybe...
