ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

I just browsed this article.  Thought it was pretty funny.

Then I remembered the urban myth about the guy who got booked drink driving his wheelchair in Cairns.

Not sure what would happened if the cops pulled you up pushing a board on the way home from the pub.

Enjoy

Dude 10km/hr and a week long stint in hospital for a fractured skull? That's just shitty luck... and when they say disqualified for 3 months I'm assuming that means driving, does that mean we can also be banned? Or was it because he was using a motorised board?

Me and henry were drunk skating yesterday and we somehow learned to ollie up gutters on boards with no kicks.

Shame neither of us remember how we did it.

Stupid rad saturday sessions. Me and rhys have skated with beers. Makes that walk up the hill much more bearable.

What Carl said. I cave a mate who had to have copious amounts of micro surgery and now has a claw instead of a hand because of such an incident. Apparently the chicks dig it though.

Just don't skate with glass bottles in your hands.  Aluminium cans don't cut so deep.

If you were simply skating home then Technically the only thing they could do you for is possibly "Drunk and disorderly" in public, remember under the law you are classed as a pedestrian.

Now since the one in the News article was motorised and illegal to use anywhere that was public access other than private property then that is an entirely different story and you are liable to all sorts of repercussions as the article outlined.

I think they got the speed wrong... the basic ones can do up to 40km/h, I think his had a little more grunt to it than those!
maybe they dropped a zero off the end of the number?
