Hey all.

I've recently started to teach myself how to slide, and i would feel more comfortable with a good set of knee pads. I've already got a set of gloves and i also own a crappy pair of protec pads. They restrict your movement so much it is ridiculous. So what brand and at what price would i be looking at for a good set? And also where should i look to buy em? Would it be worth getting some elbow pads?

Cheers.

187 pro knee pads, and 187 fly elbow pads from Boardshop, Hop, or Ado. Comfortable, great quality, and most importantly, don't slide off your arms of legs the instant you hit the ground
Sounds good, looks like i'll have to save for a bit though, just ordered my drop wedge.
for sliding elbows are a good idea, I personally ride cheap crappy ones which i am 99% sure are kids knee pads from target but they work good, got beefy caps on them, knees, protecs are not that bad, i dont mind my pair but if you want to go something better look at some 187's. if its just for sliding elbow pad quality dont really matter, as i said i ride target kiddies knee pads and they work fine so its all up to you how much you spend
dan mactaggart had some brand new 187s that he wanted to sell pretty cheap. Im not sure if he sold them, but i think they were going for around 100 bucks for the set of elbows and knees (~$140 from a store). i will ask him tomorrow about it.
Yeah i was just thinking about some cheap protecs for elbows, and maybe some better ones for knees.
Primate knee pads from Johnny McGrath in Melbourne.
They have kevlar on the high wear areas on the sides.
Designed and built by a skater.
yeah but whats the price for a set of primates? he could probably get a set of knee and elbow pads by 187 for that price
ben, i have some 187 pads going for cheap. They are brand new and still unopened in box from LBL.
