look where you want to go
go into it faster, and dont push it all the way to 180,to keep it sliding...there easiest slide goin, you can get away with heaps,n still bring it back.it gets hard when your wheels grip n your goin backwards, then you gotta switch slide it back around...
More speed. Practice with less rotation and then build up.
faster.. (which has been said) speed helps your wheels to lose their traction.

put your hand down before you start to turn too much...eg: imagine a clock face...(bare with me!) from your straight line at 12 o'clock, start at between 10 and 11 or 11 and 12... otherwise the slide will start at say 9 or 10 o'clock, meaning you are WAY off your line and losing speed quickly, making it harder to bring back to 12.... know what i mean?

get more weight onto your hand, it sounds obvious- the more weight you have off your board the easier it will slide: which is the reason people find their toeslides longer than their colemans.

"personal preference:" keep your shoulder square to your torso or slightly ahead of your torso., it means that your pendy action has less distance to travel and allows you more momentum to bring the slide back. another personal preference (for me anyway) i don't like putting my hand down onto the road fingers pointing uphill, try putting your finger facing down hill, it changes the angle of your arm (for me anyway) makes it feel as though my shoulder is squarer to my torso and makes the slide initiation feel easier....

remember to kick the front back in, again sounds obvious- but if you feel yourself getting slow and therefore "locked in" to the slide push your weight onto your back foot, try to push the front foot back down the hill.

try practicing on a "freeride" or "slopestlye" setup: eg : DRIFTY!!!...drifty wheels, loose trucks and a board your comfortable on already is your best bet and your best friend!
mine is a LY switch// loose 42º 180 randals// 86a reflex bushings// durians and bones reds; it to me is 100% what i've wanted out of a board for years.

lastly, practice seriously...also, post rain damp, QUIET road makes it a lot easier to learn; clean your bearings afterwards too...rust sucks.

hope that helps, as i've said- this is all just stuff we've watched, tried and got comfortable with if you disagree with anything i've said...no offence.
The best piece of advice i received in relation to pendulums was from the man himself - Mr Cliff Coleman.
He told me to use my rear arm to steer. So, whatever you do, don't grab your board with your rear hand. Keep it in the air and point it in the direction you want to go. When you go into the pendulum and want to bring it back just point your hand off to the side and it should come back...
