new forum layout
hey bugs or whoever it is that runs ASRA, would you pretty please be able to set an option in the forum section, to "view all" so you can see it like it used to be, prior to a week or so ago.
don't mean to have a whine, and if its a bit of work to do, dont worry, cause i know you guys put enough time in to this site already, but it makes it easier to browse over and see what people are talking about without going through 5 links.
Like i said though, it would be nice, but if its an effort to go through the site programming or whatevs, dont worry :)

On the weekend we added a new forum category; "Home-Grown Gear". That extra category made it so the the last category was pushed onto a second page when looking at the "Forums" page. So the decision was made to remove the listing of discussions in each category - this put all the categories back on a single page.
So the available options are:
1) Keep it the way it is - all 6 categories on one page, but no discussions listed under each category.
2) Have the discussions listed under each category, and therefore have one category (and it's discussions) relegated to page 2.
3) Remove the new "Home-Grown Gear" category and go back to the way it was.
4) Some other brilliant suggestion that we haven't thought of, but that is doable within the site software.
If most people really hate option (1) then we'll change it, but I'd like to hear from more people.

if you're having trouble fitting it on the page, maybe you could list only two discussions instead of three or four like it was previously in order to save space

This means 1 of the categories will completely disappear from the forum main page

Maybe you could put it back the way it was before and put the homegrown gear as stickies in the marketplace? Not sure if thats possible though

great idea, if its not doable, is there anyway to have the choice of whats on the first page? Ie, each user can chose what they want to see on the first page, some guys might not want to see 'market place' or another part of the site all of the time
