Wicked, good to see a few more gravity events poping up.the more the merrier!
Unreal. Just what the doctor ordered!
With a number of smaller events on the calender we can grow a healthy scene to compliment the main feature Newtons.
With one successful application we can use it to provide leverage against other local councils to get more comps in more areas.
Good work Daz, you're a legend!!
Awesome work guys!
Nice work man.

Out of curiosity what kind of sponsors do you have?
Like anything nothing is for certain but there is talk of GARMIN throwing in GPS units, Uniden supplying hand held radios, and Annaconda adventure stores providing racing number bibs and loads of other stuff. Daz is in talks at the moment so nothing is %100 just yet.

will have to try and get over for some runs down the hill....site map? road map? photos? anything to show us what to expect? entry forms etc....sounds good guys. 100% stoked.
ok ok, lets not get ahead of ourselves hehe.

now as phil said, it is all just tentative as far as the sponsors go, and i'm not going to name any until they have lock in as one.

as an orginiser i do have to repect a companys privacy as to weather they choose to come on as a sponsor or not, thus not providing any disapointment if one pulls out.

one that has said they are very keen to be a main supporting body is Anaconda, they will be providing most of the facilities setup i.e. gazeebo's, start line, finish line........as far as other extra's, i am working on race bibs, generators, BBQ's and extra gazeebo's plus kick ass prize packs for the winners, which will be worth over at least $200 each, all riders will have to be anaconda aventure club members in return for racing, if you don't want mail outs or any mail than just tick the box on the paper that say's piss off i don't want it hehe, simple.

the other kick ass crew helping out is the one and only ASRA, no crap, just great blokes..........just how i like it.

keep in mind there "will" be a sign in fee for racing........never fear it will be a minimal amount that a kindagarden kid robbed by a 4th grader could afford, this will cover hay bails and and all the other silly little fee's council like to hit you with, you know they make you pay for bins you know.

there will be billy cart's, spedboards, streetluge, buttboards, slalom and downhill mountain bikes, all ran at the same time over the course of the day, all in all it will be a kick ass event with some awsome racing, 4 to 5 races at a time head to head for all the down hill events, this will also be a chance for you guys to show your stuff to potential sponsors, so ya better get your shit together and look sexy ;) hehe

PEACE!

Daz
Just a side note on a couple of things there. Firstly its awesome that this kind of stuff is happening at the moment there is definately some momentem building.

From an ASRA point of view and this is likely to start from the master of the hill event there will be an increased requirement for safety and by that I mean riders will have to were leathers and a full face helmet. With increased exposure we can't have videos of riders coming down in skull caps and singlets and shedding blood like an Afghanistan patrol. In promoting our sport people on the outside looking in must see a high action adrenalin sport that is safe to send their kids to. As with some of the media of late if you don't have something to say to them about safety then you don't talk to them.

In relation to some organisational stuff in head to head 2x32 trees in single elimination or 1x32 tree with double elimination + 1 lot of quals is about all you can do in a day. If multiple catagories are to be done in race format 2 days are needed. With 3-4 man heats it may be possible to shorten the required timeframe.
or you just skip qualify and draw names from a hat to organise seeding... completely random and completely fair.
oh and make sure to run the slalom while the luge/buttboard is on, it would suck for skaters to have to chose between one or the other (slalom/downhill)... =)
Or we start giving out points for these small races and you get seeded prior to the event
