I need new gloves for newtons and want to know what the go is. Know that Landys, timeships will pass tech inspection for newtons, are mudslide's going to pass? or do i have to stick to those, if i do what is the go in terms of quality?

GLOVES: Racers must wear full fingered, leather and/or Kevlar gloves. Any gloves constructed of rubber, nylon, cotton, etc. must be worn over approved gloves. - 2009 IGSA Rulebook

Sounds like both the brown bombers and mechanix will pass.
Glad to hear your thinking about mudslides, you won't regret them!
yeah i just wanted to make sure, before i handed over my money, whats the go with the pucks? I am thinking of getting two sets of pucks because i want to race in them and use them for techsliding, so i was thinking of greenhorns for the race and mudstones for tech, are mudstones that slippery?
Gloves must be leather. like, motorcycle grade leather. i had mechanics gloves in euro, and marcus let me use them first race, but said i needed full moto grade leather ones for the others (which i had aswell anyway). if you fall in mechanics gloves at a decent speed, you can do some big damage to your hands. just take a bunch of pucks with you if you think you'll wear them out. they take up no space and weigh nothing.
the puck thing isnt wearing them out its that i want something abit grippier to race in and something uber slippery to slide in
Chopping board.
Yeah get the greenhorns for dh and mud for tech
I think they have just enough grip, some have said there like ice though... heh it would be insane with them!
They're both supposed to last ages.

And about those gloves, these mechanic's , I think they're a bit more protective than most mechanix's.
Plus this guy from uk claims he's been allowed to race them...

So I picked up the first set ummm in May? Taken them to slide comps, euro freerides, races and worn them almost every single day since then. Only damage is a small tear on one finger, some missing finger velcro and a bit of stitching that's come loose. STILL TOTALLY RIDABLE. And they don't smell! which all my other gloves do! I needed a new pair for tech sliding cos I tore the velcro off the fingers by riding without finger pucks so I ordered another set as well to keep me going for what I imagine will be at least until next summer. SICK PRODUCT BUY NOW. - gavmck
