Hard too say; i would recommend the vanguard, but ive never ridden a flexdex...... GET A GLYDE
i can't believe your even comparing a Loaded to a Flexdex....... GET A GLYDE.
personally, i wouldn't recommend any of the never summer line as a freeride deck except the soldier, The only three that would be suitable as a freeride deck would be the heist, the descent and the soldier as they're the only twin tips. I own a heist and it's waaaaaay WAY more flexy then a dervish flex 2, I get board wobbles at maybe 30km\h and the descent is just about the same flex as the heist. if that's fine, there's not much concave on it either, so there's not much to lock your feet into. I've never personally seen the soldier though so I can only assume that the concave's decent enough to use for freeride.
I have a vanguard which is a great board for carving, cruising and playing around on.
I dont really like doing stand up slides on it though, the flex can get a bit bouncy when your sliding a bit faster.
Have a look at the Rayne Hustler. great carving and sliding board, bit awkward to dance on though.
B-rad rips up on his omni pintail, seems like a solid, cheap board.
Ride a few different boards and see what you like the feel of.
get a humu. type in do you humu on youtube. you will love it.
Must be your setup Dale. Matty has a heist and that thing is the freakin bomb. I would buy one of them (infact I plan to in the states) before a Dervish anyday. Stable, flexy, easy to pump, more platform room and a wider nose than the dervish which makes it better for dancing and other fancy footwork.
How the hell can u f@$king relate a humu to a vanguard or a flexdex L37(THINK ABOUT WHAT U SAY)
HUMU=MINI
VANGUARD=CARVING
FLEXDEX=CARVING

GET A HELLCATEVOGLYDE

dani, there's nothing stable about my heist haha. I'm running randal reds (short cones) roadside and 78a barrels boardside. I weigh 70kg and i can bottom it out with a 1 foot high jump if i land two feet in the middle. Also, the nose on it is tiny, it's non-existant almost, it measures 3.75 inches across both bolt holes, which is basically, 1 inch to the closest bolt hole, baseplate, then another 1 inch from bolt hole to edge of board.

it's also 3.25 inches from the axle on my randal 180's to the tip of the nose, which isn't very big TBH.

I'm not saying your mates is like this, but mine surely isn't stable and it doesn't have a wider nose than the dervish. Does your friend have the 09 or 08 heist?
dude since when has it been acceptable to act like that on the asra, chiiiiiiiil
minis make great carvers due to their short wheel base, and if u read the original post u would have seen
"looking around for a freeride/something to just play around on and do some carving" <----- a mini fits into that fine

also y recomend an evo? that a dh board!
the hellcat i can see the point their, and if it was a glyde dropthru maybe,

please leave advice to the big boys like leigh, fitz and similar members
