ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

Hey guys,

I was driving home the long way the other day, scoping this hill that leads all the way up to my house. Its about 10 - 15k's long, all realativly smooth bitumen, some nice turns and curves, and best of all, there is a pub near by!
I was wondering if (expression of interest) anyone would actually travel if we put on an event there, like BTB or something...
The road is in Tolmie / Victoria
let me know what you think ;)

Also there is an oval / sports ground kind of thing where people can Buy/Sell boards (Hop and Ado could rock up) It could be like a two or three day event where people can do unlimited runs on a hill.

The closet town (Mansfield) is about 5 k's from the bottom of the hill, and has many places to stay, or could even set up camping near by.

What would fair pricing for a ticket be? Take into concideration that there would be people giving lifts to the top of the hill that need to be given fuel money, that would be covered in a ticket.

Any event names? (like Beat the bastard, Newtons Nation ect.)

Everybody here would travel to any place in Australia for a race at any time of the year for any reason
Yes! sounds awesome!
if you get closure....they will come.....
Hell yes, sounds sick
thumbs up :)
50-150 is the sort of range your looking at for a ticket, i would be so stoked to go do it, if you could get it on i would be down to race, organise it and the riders will come, maby think about it as a pre event to newtons nation or something so internationals can come to vic for an event to get some riding in before they go to newtons, it would be so sick to go have an event in vic before heading to NSW for a race
sonds great mate, any chance of getting your video cam out and having a skate down the road so we can all have a look, just been searching google maps and couldnt find it, but the road in to baffalo national park looks sweet, check out new google maps earth veiw, sweet, hope you get this up and going , more events the better.
If you are serious Mitch send me a PM with the details and I'll give you an idea of what your up for budget wise. Unless you intend to make money from it rider fees will be determined by how much it will cost to put on and how much sponsorship you can get. Petrol costs are the least of your worries. $50 is an outlaw price $150-$250 is a legit race. An outlaw might set you back $1500-$5000, barebones legit $20,000-$30,000, Full on legit $50,000-$100,000.

If its a great hill and legit you could attract 150 riders
Mitch,

If I am available I will definitely come with some team riders and mates. I would bring prizes along with me. I'm sure there will be other shops that would help out as well.

Cheers
super keen
Wow thanks for your input guys, ill definatly look into it some more ;) And rob, you wont find it on google maps lol And yeah ill definatly skate the mountain with a cam when i get my new board :D
