Im looking at this and did I miss the boat? I was hoping to see an allu dseed wheres the drop deck?

that deck pictured is awesome but wheres the dseed?

ok I re read it and spotted the ( imagine this ) part ,
and I want to see one for sure.!
any flex in 4-5mm allu?
The board in question (pink wheels) is identicle in profile within a mm to a demonseed. It already has 10mm of drop. With another 15mm spacer it would have the same drop.
I used the Rogers bro's spec and went with 1/4" plate for the pan. Trouble is the Rogers bros model was a lil shorter. Mine has way too much flex across the centre of the pan.
The D/S shaped heads weighed 420gm each. The new shaped heads in the CAD picture are down to 300gms. I'm sure a composite pan can achieve total stiffness without weighing a ton. It wouldn't be very difficult to have 15mm of drop built into the pan either which would do away with the spacers.

Price.....
Way to early to say yet. These are simply proto's I like to share.
Some people bitch and moan about copy cats but ultimately nothing has changed that much since the 70's anyway. The things that do change drasticly get cut down or frowned apon. Just ask Chaput.

Just for the record the all metal one (shown in photo with pink wheels) weighed in at a whopping 4kg deck only!!!
Epic failure.

Fitz,

Dave Rogers rides one of his metal decks in races, weighs about the same as yours and he wins a lot. Think it might be a bit of psychology though as noone wants Dave coming down at them from behind on that tank so they let him go in front. Smart race tactic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers mate

Ado

PS. You still got the metal one? Might be interested in buying it.
Hey Ado,
Yeah still got it all. I didn't even bother to grip the pan because it had way too much flex. If you put some more concave in with some more bends it'd definately work, however I wanted max flat across centre. You'd also have to trim the heads back to 6 holes to fit the extra concave.
I'm gonna keep it though and use it as a form for any future composite pan's I might do. Alum has great heat transfer properties which help glue to set.
