One of the axels on my caliber 44's has something wrong with it. I have tried 4 different nuts on this one axel and can still twist them down to the end of the thread with my fingers. I know of 2 other guys that have the same problem and 1 has had his wheel fly off while riding.

If anyone knows how to fix this problem please reply! until then im double nutting the axel.. not that it will make much difference but it will give me some confidence it wont fly off haha

the photos????? one from each side of the hanger.

If it is the axle and you have not damaged it then I would be sending the truck back for an exchange or refund seeing as you have only had them for a month

Edit: sorry for having a dig at ya too, hope you get it sorted

Yeah righto mate.. new the new axel nuts would of came loose anyway... Its the axel not the nuts
Might wanna check you have th right nuts too, metric/imperial, although 8mm is 5/16' so im not sure there is any difference, just a guess..Phil, you must know
Its the stock nuts that came with the trucks. I think that the thread on the axel isnt deep enough

I think what has happened to your trucks is faulty manufacture.

When the threads are formed. There has been an adjustment to the cutter and oops one axle is out of dimensions.

Do this :

1./ Get your vernier Calipers out or find a friend with some ;) he he

2./ Measure the OUTSIDE of the thread.

3./ Measure the PITCH of the thread. that is the distance from ^ to ^ . to do this beast to measure say 10 threads and divide by 10.

The Axles on just about all skateboards have 5/16"-24 UNF. 24 TPI (Turns Per Inch)

Let me ranslate that into modern language:

the Outside diameter of the thread should be 7.93 mm or 5/16"

The 24 TPI is the thread pitch. this should work out to be 1.058 mm

The inner diameter is 7.93 minus 1.06mm  = 6.87mm.

Now .. it could be that you have Metric M8 x 1.0 Nuts .. they are close but a little too big ??? For your axle .

Also check that the threads are not "flattened" by the bearings spinning on them .. some falks don't tighten the bearings up and they wear the shafts. Ooops not warranty on that lot !

Heads UP .. nuts need to be nipped up tight. About 2 Kgs force on the end of a 150mm Spanner.

Why ? to lock up the spacers inside your wheels to the inner bearings. If they do not turn correctly then you have dodgy wheels, and or spacers or you need to add a "speed ring" INSIDE the wheel with the spacer.

If you have M8 Axles then the outer diameter is 8mm and the pitch would be either 1.25mm or 1.0 mm.

The root (inner) diameter of the axle (bottom of the threads) would be 8mm less the pitch. i.e 6.75mm (1.25) or 7mm (1.0).

Hope this helps you out.
