Event Description
The 2012 Yarra Ranges Downhill Festival is Victoria's first legal, closed road slalom/downhill race event. It's been a long time coming but will be a chance for us to show the locals that downhill skaters are not 'playing russian roulette with cars' (thanks Tracy) and are above all, awesome to watch.
Schedule
Downhill Racing, Slalom, Music, Barbecue all in one jam packed day of fun. If you call yourself a long boarder and live in Melbourne, you better be there.
What does it cost?
- $55 for downhill
- $15 for slalom and $5 for the Penny riders
- All riders receive free raffle tickets!
Registration
Open Registration will begin on Thurs, November 11th at 7pm (AEST). Payment is made via Paypal at time of registration. Once rego is paid there will be no refunds for any reason, you use it or you lose it.

This is link to a vid I made of the run Daniel. Under 16's are groms, over 16 is open class. No it is not a hard course, but remember you need a half shell helmet, slide gloves and some sort of knee protection to register.
Its not possible to sign up on the day.

we used to call them banana boards because when you put your foot in the middle the they would bend to the shape of and not because i was a fat kid

signed up and payed would have prefered to pay on the day though.only signed for the slalom though dont have a full face helmet.

All you budding film makers better be thinking about the
VIDEO COMPETITION!!
WHAT TO DO : Film and epic of the entire day, covering all the happenings of the downhill, slalom, penny slalom, presentations as well as including all the sponsor logo's. Make sure its between 3:30 and 4:30 long, and try to be as original as you can!
WHEN : The competition will run till a maximum of 1 week after the event (Dec 9). Once you are finished, post the link up on the FaceBook page.
Entries with the most likes will make up a shortlist, where the winner will be decided by Matthew Cassar and myself.
PRIZES : $100 in cold hard cash, as well as something chosen from the massive prizepack we have lined up chosen by the organisers. (board, gloves, wheels etc)
So get your SLR'S and get filming!
