Event Description

A double header, featuring the legendary Kincumber Drain on one day, and head-to-head slalom on the other.

Kincumber Race Format

This will be run as a jam format. Each rider will get a minimum of four timed runs (more if we have time), and their fastest time is the only one that counts. If you hit a cone your time will not be recorded but you'll have used up one of your four runs, so Don't Hit Cones.

Sidonia Race Format

This will be a head-to-head race. Two identical courses will be set side-by-side, and riders will have a timed qualifying run on each course, with their fastest run used to seed them into a 32-person draw.

In head-to-head racing each rider's time starts on the start of the 4th beep from the timing system. If you jump the gun the amount of time you jump by is doubled and added to your time. If you hit a cone a 0.1 second penalty is added to your time.

We will use a new format this year; a mixture of single elimination and double-elimination. The first four rounds will be double-elimination. These four rounds will cull the rider list down from 32 to 16 riders, while ensuring that everybody races at least two different opponents. These races are single-run, with the fastest qualifier in each race choosing which lane (red or white) to run.

We then switch to single-elimination for the last 16. These races will be dual-run, ie, each rider runs on both the red and white lanes, and their times are added.

So , how do we deal with this house? slab of beer and roses for the missus? invite to THE National slalom event on their doorstep with a free hotdog and burger; okay discounted, OR disposable white overalls, gas masks, a few cones and sirens and evacuate them for the day? and any ideas how we stop any other houses springing up?

Imogen and I rode sids Sunday during the showers, still ridable wet but had a few slides - without a bail.
Road still in reasonable nick, few cracks appearing but surface good.
Less rubbish and paint than last year but there is a house on the feeder road in.

i think canberra is more gnar than kincumber,.no steps or bumps trying to shift your foot out of position, and only half the gnar in the bottom, and half the length...there both rad fun!

Don't be fooled by the videos and pics - the ditch is much steeper in the flesh (i've watched but not skated) .There's no room for error like in Canberra, no bailing off to the side. You do get a choice though, either leech infested bush or a chain link fence!

Yehh can't wait to hit the ditch again!!
