We need a track like the catalina island classic.somewhere populated where theres more spectators and a nice view so as to be able to hold a festival too and bring in some business.otherwise 7 pins, bulli pass or otford rd would definitely tickle alot of world class racers fancy...super steep like tuetonia yet twisty enuf to satisfy the thane on your wheels.also the road to palm beach would be awesome.its twisty enuf but traffic would be a huge problem since you cant really divert traffic.

if there are other people in vic who are willing to step up and run a world cup or even a top tier ASRA event this year I would absolutely love to help out. There may be a few places that people might not of looked at in vic that could provide a world class event location.

I think that there are possibly 3 people in Vic that might be interested.

For courses,

Scenery, speed, and fear, Arthurs Seat stands out, but the downside is an expensive road closure, and hay baling.
Thinking at least $30k, so a very big sponsor is needed, and lengthy council negotiation will be involved.

Falls Creek, 100's of hay bales in a national park, but also 5.5 hours from closest international airport.

Mt Bulla, closer to town, but again hay bales.

and there are the Rob-Roy, and Christmas Hills,  hill climb circuits, both untested, but might be easier.
(someone needs to try them both)

Warrnambool council might be up for an event, but it is limited by lack of hills.

and then there is Yarra Ranges, and they have the Mt Dandenong Tourist Rd, but again, traffic management, hay bales, and grumpy residents will be the wet blanket.

Just on that, I need someone to run a demonstration slalom/slide event with the Upwey Billy carts....think of it as an investment in good-will that we can cash in on the next Yarra Ranges downhill race.

Berowra would be good, lots of corners with a bay at the end.

remembering when thinking about races at mt buller ,falls or any alpine area that only a small section of road is required, its not like your going to bail and race the whole of falls ck etc.....mt buller would be rad, start line in the village and the finish a few klms down, all the turniest section and the place is deserted in summer...yes its a bit of a drive from melbourne but look how hard some of the other wc races are to access overseas..i think half a days car drive from the nearest international airport is pretty good.

the other course i had in mind and i have no idea how viable it actually would be is on mt dandenong, speeds in the high 90's with some tight corners and long straights, in my mind from a riders stand point its potentially one of the best spots we could use in vic, its also easy to access and doesn't involve shutting down a major road. The major downsides of it would be making the first corner safe for riders.

Warnambool also has a local shop backing it, I dont know about a race there but i see a slide jam being 100% viable there or even some GS but first hand experience trying to skate around there is the pickings are slim for any sort of a race hill, factor in the travel and its straight up unviable to put on a DH race there

2 good points bra. theres so many nannys out there that worry that if the whole road isnt staked with thousands of dollars of hay it wont be safe. in the same breath inviting every kook on a longboard to ride the hill. WC races yes need to have saftey involved but fuck, remember the first newtons, there was hay on the inside of corners, haha and down the straights, stratigic placing of bails is easy and when you have the best riders in the world mobbing a hill, they will soon speak up if its not all in place and be the last ones falling off the road.

safety is least of our worries atm, we dont even have a hill or council on our side. im gonna spend a bit of time working on a race up north, it would also be good if the VIC boys did the same and worked on some gnarly rad shit to rep Aus with.
