ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

So the main zipper of my leathers has decided to break on me two days before keira, and i'm kind of in trouble now cos i need them to race

the zipper moves up and down but no longer closes. does anyone know somewhere in sydney i can go tomorrow to get the zipper fixed? I've basically got one day to get this fixed.

I've tried getting the moving bit down to the bottom because apparently you can fix it by getting it all the way down, but the bottom isn't accessible because the leathers are stitched together over the top.

so unless i can find somewhere to fix them quick smart, or someone kindly lends me some, I'm basically screwed.

can you guys help me out???

try your local alterations shop. otherwise sometimes those crazy shoe fixing dudes do repairs like that.

failing that, a shitload of gaff will do the trick!

please note that the igsa does not endorse my gaffa tape suguestion...

thats what my plan was for tomorrow, just thought id see if anyone knew the perfect place or something.. i would go the gaffa tape if it weren't an igsa race haha

if you cant get anyone to do it in time, and if you think it can be rethreaded,.unpick the stitching at the bottom of the zip,or cut the leather so you can get to the end of the zip and put the zipper back on and hopefully it will mesh them together, then sew it back up or kwik grip glue a leather patch to seal them up again...they might need a whole new zipper sewn into them tho,i had trouble finding metal zips and got one sent from cali from manufacturer,...u havnt got time for that,..get on the phone and ring around,if ya cant get it done.....do it yourself without blowing it hopefully

that was my first idea but mumsie wasn't keen.. the kwik grip is a good idea though, cheers benny
