Hell yeah

Welcome to the richest leg of downhill racing the world has ever seen. During 10 days in April the worlds best will converge on Australian shores for the start of the IGSA World Tour. Riders from North America, Europe, Africa, South America and Asia will face off against the best riders in Australia for $30,000 in cash and the title of worlds best.

It will be 10 days to examine the soul of a rider and determine if they can come out on top and take the title and the big dollars, or crash in a heap.

Welcome to the Australian World Cup leg, the richest, the biggest, and the craziest show on earth.

Hey, I haven't been to Kiera since 2009. Is the bottom section of it still chunder? The part that goes to all the houses that is. Is it part of the track or is it just the top section?

Food Update

Mt Keira:  We are currently working our catering arrangements for dinner at the Scout Camp.  We are finalising details with a chef to come in and do dinners for probably $5 each night.  We'll get the menu up and price here when it's ready.  We are also sorting out breakfast options (probably cereals + fruit) and will have a vendor on the hill where you can buy lunch.  The Scout Camp has bbq's and a full industrial kitchen, although that kitchen will be used by our cooking team.  It should be good!

The Scout Camp is only a 5-minute drive from town and the supermarkets.

Newtons:  Not sure about Newtons yet.  If you are staying at Goldfields (the hotel on Forest Elbow, which we recommend) we are hopeful they will open up their kitchen in order to provide meals.  Otherwise, it's a 5-minute drive into town and pubs/supermarkets.  If you're staying at the campground there are no cooking facilities, although the festival will have some food vendors.

Api, Haggy or Robbo will have more nformation on the food situation. I'm sure they'll respond in good time.

As for race to qualify, I'll have more information on it soon. At Keira we'll be running the standard IGSA race format, with a bit of a repechage thrown in. At Newton's we'll do race to qualify, the same as 2010 but with one extra race between the winners of the odd and even trees. But as I said, more info to come.

Hey Tom,

Spoke to the promoter today, I think the person you spoke to at Goldfields wasn't fully across the detail. The goldfields is fully booked out by the promoter but for the sole purpose of housing competitors and staff, there are plenty of rooms and beds available. He's gonna call them tomorrow to sort it out.
