most people who are on this site are longboarders,so most people here are looking at these with thoughts of putting them sideways,if the eurethane is replacable, whats going to stop these pealing straight off the core when sideways pressure is put on them,?or is sliding not recommended on these?

stoked they are australian made and owned,.hope it goes well for you..........people will want to kno about them before anyone buys them that is all.

The hardness of the urethane is up to the buyer... soft wheels with a shore measure of a75 will not have a tendancy to slide usually for longboarders with larger wheel basses. wheels with a shore density around a101 are alot harder and slide alot more. So consumers will be able to buy to suit there riding.

as for the urethane, it is fused to the aluminuium core. i have never seen a roo wheel peel off at all.

i plan to get as much infomation about roo wheels as i can and its so helpful to receive great question to that end

thanks i hope i answered your questions!! azza

Aussie made, owned, designed, manufactured and loved...its the love that does it

cheers,.sounds like they ll definetly be  worth giving them a go,...

Have you done any comparative testing to well known and loved brands such as Abec 11, Otangs, Cult and all the others I haven't mentioned?  How well do they slide (We all know about how duro's affect the characters) but are they choppy like retro thane, do they feel smooth like classic thane, do they shed thane or keep it on (you said they don't wear very fast, so I'm thinking they don't shed any at all)

It's all sounding like a sales pitch but there is no depth in the answers.  Have they been tested in race conditions, at free-rides and why haven't I heard of them before if they are such a great wheel?

As everyone has said before, great to see Aussie made wheels, but I would like to see proof that I should buy them, not just the sales rep telling everyone it's good.

like any new product i spose skittles, noone you kno has yet tried them,...no doubt, people will try them and when they do there will be some opinions floating around,....but hey,you cant take peoples word for it all the time, try them bro

I may get around to it.  It would be good to see if they can compete price wise with other brands, considering they are being made in Australia, that's got to up the cost a bit.  But then again, don't need to be shipped from overseas...

theres a few holes in your answers there, as far as trying to get them on the market i think you would need to be able to answer these questions correctly...

im a little concerned when you say they are so smooth they eliminate death wobbles... every longboarder on this website knows that death wobbles dont come from the wheels, and you cant actually prevent death wobbles from wheels. Having wheels that are ovalised or flatspotted due to sliding sure are crap to ride and do bounce around alot, but will not cause death wobbles - thats happens because of loose trucks/bushings or not enough leg strength...

also the question rob raised about the urethane being recyclable, and getting new 'treads' put on the hubs when they wear down, is that something that you would do? sure you could say its recyclable but im not sure how if the thane is fused to the core how would you change it, otherwise how would you propperly recycle it once they are used? urethane and aluminium are two different things im sure you dont just chuck them in the recycle bin when your finished and the boys at the tip will sort em out...

also you mentioned you can ride them for 1000km and then they core? im not sure i understand what is meant by that? are you saying that other wheels will have already worn down to the core after they have traveled a distance of 1000km?

theres just a few things that need to be answered there, expecially when you are a new brand and trying to introduce your product to an already massive longboard market with plenty of tested and proven products available, and when you make a claim that your wheels are the best you would need to prove it... The average joe will always turn to the tested and proven product before taking someone's word on a product that its 'better' when they are very new to the whole longboarding style of wheel.

hope you guys can get this one off the ground, there are currently no wheel brands in Australia that are worth looking at yet!

as i said earlier we have been testing since 2006 with a number of skaters giving it a go, including renton miller, craig justice, ben currie and jason paloyanidis just to name a few. Comparativly skaters using well known brands like abec's are quietly impressed there are differences in smoothness and ridability. to be more specific all of the riders we have shown have now made the switch with the exception of a few diehard fans of traditional wheels, so my current statistics are looking better everyday with more and more people taking that chance, including longboarders.

check out the facebook page roo wheels and see for yourself the feedback.

the harder 'firestorm' wheels at 98a and 53mm has smooth tough thane to prevent 'choppy" or uneasy ride causing wobbles and wavering. lower centre of gravity also helps with this. i have not expierienced the thane shredding or tearing,

as i said they do not wear so quick,

although i have swapped positions of the wheels to provide more even wear.

We have actually tested them out in street skating competitions check out facebook for more details!!

you probably havnt heard of them yet because we are launching this brand in 2012!! after 6 yrs of testing and perfecting the process.

no one wants a "sales rep" tellin them what to do and this is not my intention, the success of a business relies heavily on its product integrity and truth ill say that again truth...

fantastic intelligent questions man..

Roo Wheels are also environmentally friendly, aluminum can be recycled and urethane can be replaced instead of disposing of the whole item.

Please explain !

environmentally friendly, meaning the wheels can be fully reclaimed and re used let me get the actual info and ill reply

maybe you should get some of ozzies higher profile longboarders to test em out? sure enough you have some good names on your list of riders, but they are all park, bowl or street skaters. there is a huge difference in the way a wheel works between these two fields.

im still not sold on the whole 'wobble prevention' thing though, and im not sure its a good selling point for your brand. saying they have a lower center of gravity is also a little weird too... i would say just leave that out coz it aint gonna work. Longboarders know what cause speed wobbles, and its not the wheels. Lower centre of gravity comes from your body weight, or the profile of the board itself, no the wheels...

the question of the recyclable thane still has not been answered. are you able to elaborate on that one for me?

also the thing on the '1000km til the core'... still have no idea what thats supposed to mean.

craig justice lives up the road from me and he gave me some to try. i couldnt since i was injured and gave them back to him. the other models of these wheels 1 set of his brothers just peeled right off while street skating so i doubt they would be anygood for what we do. but i havnt actually tried em so i dunno.
