  • No skitching
  • No going through red lights
  • No swerving in front of cars

Safety stuff

  • Helmets are a must! No Helmet = No skate
  • I will not be held responsible for any injuries or worse. It is your decision to skate. You have chosen the risk.

Meeting spot will be on the little grass land bit besides Southbank Train Station - 283 Grey Street

Completely agree with that Jamie, I wasn't actually an organizer, I just had to step in to try and get everything under control.

Jordan and Lucas both had things come up, so at 11pm last night they asked me to step in but I has States all day, so i guess, it's a rare circumstance when both initial organizers and myself all have something on.

That being said it still is a major inconvenience to you guys, who like you said have had to miss work. It just got to the point last night, were we either canceled it or attempted to run it with a limit organizational structure. Unfortunately we had to choose an option and stick by it. Like I said their going to try and get it going again very soon, with the intent of using it for charity or at worst donating the profits to BFL or ASRA.

On behalf of Lucas and Jordan sorry for any inconvenience.

Harry, mate i feel for Jordan and my thoughts are with him but if your going to organise an event you should always have someone who can take over for whatever reason. Like Emily has said people have taken the day off work for this, cant turn up a couple of hours late and say changed my mind that simply not how it works.

All good dude, weekend would be better as well, just as long as it's not tomorrow or next Saturday.

EVERYONE THE "Brisbane Bomb"  HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO PERSONAL CIRCUMSTANCES, SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE,  , STUFF LIKE THIS HAPPENS, BOTH LUCAS AND JORDAN HAD OTHER FAR MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO ATTEND TO.

Jordan has to attend a funeral, so instead of sulking and giving him a hard time over the postponement of the bomb, give him and his family a little support.

POSTPONED TILL FURTHER NOTICE - TELL ALL YOUR MATES AND KEEP CHECKING THIS PAGE FOR INFO ON THE RE-SCHEDULED TIME.

Realistically, it's worth postponing to ensure it's well organized and planned, theirs no hurry and no point rushing it then regretting it later, if we want this to be enjoyable, get all your mates to come to the re-scheduled time and have a sick day.

Update: It will most likely be re-scheduled to a WEEKEND just to increase numbers and will hopefully be run as a charity event.

Thank-you and sorry again for any inconvenience.

Also some guys will still be heading to the original meeting place at 11 just for a shred, if your keen you are more then welcome to join them.

Yea sorry, Skittles, that was copied straight from Facebook give me a sec ill fix it up. Jordan actually has to attend a funeral, yet some people still try and give him a hard time over it.

I pulled out from organizing this a while ago, I'm just trying to help them out.

Word is, it'll probably be a WEEKEND and they are going to attempt to charge an entry fee, to be donated to charity. Which I believe is a good idea, just to avoid any backlash from the public.

In future can you guys please not plan it to happen on a week day as most of the older crew have jobs ect, that is if you want people to come to the rescheduled event, as there is a few people I know including myself that called in to work to say they couldn't come to work for this event and that probably won't be happening again. Now you can use this opportunity to reorganise and plan a better event like you said :).

check out the faecbook page
there is now a new route...

So you guys plan to cross the victoria bridge where the car and bus lane is, then cross the road into queen street in peak hour traffic, without getting hit by a car...
Either way i'm keen, but i think you gotta really give this route good planning, when you say that safety is your main concern.
Love the idea though

The 2 riskiest areas are one, the queen st mall and second the stretch of Albert st between Elizabeth and Charlotte.  Queen st mall with say 50-100 skaters during xmas period on a brick paved surface that might be wet is just asking for a pedestrian to be hit and if seriously injured, imagine the press we'll obtain by that.  Secondly that small stretch of Albert st is going against the traffic and the road is narrow enough as is due to the car park tunnel coming out on one side of the road and taxi rank on the other.  The footpaths are all lined with restraunts with customers and staff walking back and forwards between the tables.  You would be much better turning right off the Victoria bridge and follow William St along until you hit Margaret and then bombing Margaret st to the carpark.  Considering the state premiers office overlooks William St, wouldn't it be better to take that approach?  Imagine having Anna Bligh look out her office window to see 100+ skaters dominating the street in a mass group making a statement rather than 1000 pissed off pedestrians who have no idea why were skating thru the mall (as no pre-media coverage has been arranged).  Remember its the general public who vote the parties in that change the rules.  Piss them off often enough and watch the regulations tighten up on skating
