alright, need everybodys two cents, doing standies down a road, fall off, car comes flying around a corner behind me, she doesnt seem to slow down, anyways thats not the point, the my nose of my board was jammed under her front left wheel, she kept driving for 5m or so until she reversed and let my board out,the boards bascially popped up and hit her bumper, it basically just skidded, my board didnt snap (baby killer) all the pressure went to the trucks, and now im being blamed for her to pay for a wheel re alignment, when i think about it, a curb would do more damage to a car wheel rather than a skateboard, i can expand on the story if anyone wants me to, really dont want it to go to the pigs to get involved because then ill get done for skating illegally maybe or whatever. help me!

i never fell really, highsided and like slow paced jogged to a stop, board road to the other side of road, plus she sent me texts about it, i know dumb idea leaving evidence now, i think i should stick to the idea that she should go to an NRMA place, plus the annoying thing is, she called me up before it was getting checked out and said she doesnt really care aslong as her steering is the same, when she hadnt previously complained about it, and after the "inspection" shes complaining her steering has difference, i mean wtf,

the steering probably already had something wrong with it and she had no clue it did so shes assuming your board has caused it. A car hitting a board is no worse than driving up a driveway gutter

Your call man but the more contact you have with her, the more you text, talk and write the deeper in you will get. If her steering is already fucked then the NRMA will tell her it is bent and then what? You pay for it? If it is out of line then it probably already was...

Dani, has the right idea she needs to be able to prove that your board messed up the wheel alighment (which it wouldnt have) and unless the road had a line down the middle im pretty sure your aloud to skate there (and you were on the left side of course) and in any case the woman should be watching the road, what if it was you under the car not the board ??? id just tell her that she lucky she didnt run you over and to get over it, most likely she needed a wheel alighment before the incedent and is just looking to get you too pay for it

yeah i know, i should just get free legal advice from local council, just need a way to prove my board could not do that damage, id rather get fined for skating on the road than pay for her shit.

Just say to her that she shouldn't have run over and piece of wood that was on the road, she had time to stop and should have been looking.

YOUR property has been damaged by her lack of concertration while driving.

SHE is at fault for putting HER steering out of line by not looking where SHE was going.  You did not throw your board under her wheel giving her no time to stop.  She was driving to fast (Was she speeding?), didn't look where she was going, hit a piece of wood lying on the road (Which just happened to be yours and you dropped/lost control of it), kept on driving for a few seconds after hitting something that would make a noise (Imagine if that was a baby? What the fuck was she thinking????) and that it was all preventable if she had of been doing the right thing!

any tyre joint worth there salt should be able to back up that hitting a thin peice of wood with bearings and wheels attached wont f*ck up wheel alighment..or your own mechanic should do the same

I am reading this and thinking how in the world does this lady have your phone number?  A good lesson to never give people your name or number.  Or if you give them your number, make it a fake one.  It's ridiculous that a car's alignment will be affected by hitting a skateboard...

Hey Chris I was only jokin' about the Kahalani's as they cost over $200. Take a deep breath & really think about the incident & what has been said afterwards between you & her. If it is your word against hers give her NOTHING & tell her to prove it. We get bugs to delete this thread & you just stand your ground that she was speedin, nearly killed you what ever, her word against yours! There is NO WAY you skateboard damaged her steering as Mr Bastard said (power gives way to sail),don't let her bully you even if things have been said or texted just deny & say you were scared but it really wasn't like she said & just blame her if it is your word against her & no witness. Play by her rules BULLSHIT & EXAGERATE!

yeah ive been told that to not answer he calls or text back to her, and just wait until the cops come to my door, if they come after they hear how it happened. cheers to all for advice, seeing as i don't know much about how shit goes down legal wise.

Tell here your not paying anything, and the advise you have been given is that your not in the wrong. She can take it to the small clams court for $40 if she wants but your advise is that she will loose.

If she chose to take it to small claims (which is so not worth it for the time you have to spend on it) they'd almost certainly rule neither party at fault, it being her word against yours. She's relying on your good will really. If, as you say, she could have avoided it but didn't then I don't see that you owe her any.

It is really REALLY hard to take anyone to court and win where there is any kind of ambiguity, particularly for small claims. Don't stress.
