I have hit 100 in shorts and a shirt.

I ride a 24in wheelbase.. I never wear my leathers.. and I mob 100km quite reguarly.. Your trucks aren't the problem.. its bushing..

It might be worth riding with slightly softer bushings than you're actually comfortable with for a while to force you to get dialled. Then once you put solid bushings in you should feel boss. I've had to get used to far softer bushings due to injury and limited ankle mobility and it has given me no choice but to get my stability sorted out.

Not easy though, and cars aren't a very accurate speedo when it comes to skating.

just skate down a main road and hope a cop drives past you with a mobile radar on the side of there car.. then hope they clock you in then try to pull you over... thats the most accurate way of measuring your speed :P hahaha

No u dont

i've personal found cast trucks very hard to tune so that they are both stable at speed and will still corner well. that's why i stick to my kahas when going fast, i know all i have to do is chuck green and red venoms in there and i'm set for whatever speed. i definitely feel safer bombing hills on precisions, you don't need em but they help.

might try some softer bushings but i dont know wat duro the stock bear bushings are (green double barrel) and yeah probs right jacko high 80s or any where around 80

are they really 83a fuck i was lookin at some bushing on hopkin at like 78a might get the harder ones and get used to them

Whats peoples opinions on venom red barrel 90a bushings for downhill?

Red venoms are the sickness. They always feel deadset stable to me.

As a general rule I take whatever speed I believed I was doing and take off at least 10kmh and that's probably closer to what I was actually doing. If there's corners involved, probably take of 15 or more.

After eading Jackos post Im curious on how much people on these forums are exaggerating. I'm sketch at anything over 50km/hr, assuming there are corners and tight bends. its prob not a good idea to bullshit in a thread where someone is thinking of racing at high speeds, or going fast in general.

Also Bear bushings are 83a arent they? Wouldnt wanna get softer than that imo.

I can vouch for the speeds reached at Kanga humps as the tail car driver, filming and using GPS for speed. A couple of months ago the Goldie crew (monkey pig, daddow etc) wereripping 90kmh+ all day. Only a couple with leathers there was a couple of aero helmets involved though and only one off for the whole day. Kangas is 1.8km long no turns to speak of and the high speeds are reached only for a short time at about 3/4 of the way through.the rest of the time fluctuates between 40-80 kmh.

In one of the vids Mike English and Lewis Carroll must have come so close to or broken the 100kmh, so fucking fast. Drafting and pushing from the top and a fair way ahead of the group on the 4th or 5th run. I was filming from a static position at the bottom of the largest drop this time and It was like a sonic boom everytime the crew ripped past. Skittles hit 95kmh on the first or second run that i filmed. I can vouch for Jaidyn Beilby and loose as fuck trucks (freak), 52 bear grizzlys. I can post the vids if you'd like to see em.

vids would be sick. why did he have loose as trucks for such a high speed run anyway?
