Where to buy - Melbourne
I've been away from home for about 3 months, and in two weeks I'm arriving in Melbourne. I've left my lovely G&S Fibreflex deck at home, but really want one so I can go cruising around Melbourne. Just wondering if there is anywhere I might be able to pick up a new fibreflex in Melbourne, or any sites with cheap shipping to Melbourne (I've got family there so could have it posted to them, ready for when I arrive!). Any advice much appreciated!

don't get another Fiberflex dude. if you like something that carves, get a Dervish. once you ride the Dervish, you won't go back to your Fiberflex.

have you ever ridden a dervish? if you have, it probably wasn't set-up the way a dervish should be.

I hear that, loaded's pretty average. Nice wheels tho, but if it wasn't for Colton where would they be?

Off the original subject, I'm sure they'd be fine, no discredit to the amazing Mr Colton. Having a vanguard and not being a member of the mass dervish club, it's great. Anywhere i've ridden my DH board I've ended up ridding the vanguard. It works so well, and is so light, sometimes i wonder why i don't just have one board. But hey.. Subsonic's got some nice looking boards although they may have the same concave issues... Anybody got any feedback on them??

its not just adam colton dude, there were many other people like Louis Piloni, Adam Stokowski, Donald himself (the boss) and the whole LongBoardLarry crew who got behind them the Adams in the begining... actually i think the question you should be asking is "but if it wasn't for the thousands of people who absolutely loved their products from day one where would they be?"
Loaded may be 'pretty average' but it seems they are making quite a substantial amount of money... and making a lot of other people quite a substantial amount of money too...

BACK TO THE MAIN POINT.
You seem to be looking at a cruiser board. i may suggest some other boards for your from the lovely fellas at Hopkin to suit your cruising needs at an affordable price. We have a bunch of complete boards that are on sale at the moment. Shipping to melbourne will be around $10-15
First we have the FSU classic race complete. If you want some flex and carve power this is a good choice. great grippy wheels and the randals have new new bushings that absolutely rock... $360
Also take a look at some of our Riviera boards. One of which that i will like to advertise is the Bee Flexi. This little snapper is a wicked little package. Nice amount of flex, not too saggy but not too stiff, come with randal 150's to make those snappy turns and the new Riviera wheels which are actually pretty damn good. $285
Next up we have the Rayne Hustler, this one is a little bit more expensive but worth every cent. It comes with 66mm 80a zigzags so it pumps up to speed nice and quick and has an unbelievable flex pattern that feels stiffer than a dervish but gives you just as much energy return, has an awesome concave to it and with the paris trucks carves like a dream. $410

Cheers for all the advice. The dervish is a 41.4incher right? I was thinking of going for something pretty short as I might be traveling again and I'd want a small board to strap onto my pack. Any advice on different boards which will be nice to carve and cruise??

yeah dude the timeline is a great option. whack some randal 180's on it and you can still carve down hills and it turns enough to pedestrian slalom. has great flex pattern and a great concave. i guess its a mini version of the Hustler and top-mounted, and with no tiny kick tail
