what is better??
im looking for just a beginner dh board that i could also learn some sliding on. what board in your opinion is the best ride Nemesis, Evo, Hellcat.

It's not that one is better than another, but that they all have slightly different characteristics. And those differences are slight enough that as a beginner you probably won't notice them. So you can't go wrong.
That said, I like the Glydes - they have really smart designs and are well-built.
What trucks do you have (or plan to buy)? Some trucks suit some decks better than others. The Evo is tricky for trucks because it has such exaggerated wedging/dewedging built in to it.

bugs is right. you won't notice any differences until much, much, much further down the track. get the 09 Hellcat so at least one South Aussie is rocking one. ;)

Cos they're middle-of-the-road in terms of turniness they'll work with anything, even an Evo. So you really can't lose. Everybody can tell you what their favourite board is, but in the end it doesn't mean too much - buy the cheapest, or the one that has the nicest shape or prettiest graphic, and then start riding it.

Bugs ,after 4/5 months skating young Josh and I are just starting to feel differances when we make adjustments not so much on highspeed DH but with high spped cornering or tight slower speed stuff like garages etc . we both run evo's and currently have R180's and I just got Josh some Kookies on 42's . Question ; you said evo's are tricky , what is your idea of a good stable and tunable truck and base to suit them ?

What I mean is that because there's a 15 deg wedge on the front and a 15 deg dewedge on the back, if you use the same trucks front and rear on an Evo you have a 30 deg difference between the front and back - it seems like a lot.
But then a lot of races have been won on Evos, so what do I know? I'm no downhill expert...

once again a topic about boards. no matter wat deck u choose u can carve the shit out of it, dh to the max, and slide it sideways however u want. even the evo can be set up to be an awesome freeride board. choose the one u like the look of, or pick it out of the hat. kookies are awesome, but then again all precision trucks are. i sugggest getting some new bushings though cos the randal bushings are shite!! also, glyde is aus made so thats a positive.
