ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

Hey lads, first post.

I got a 120-y the other day (still hasnt arrived) but im abit stumpted on what setup to use on it. Ill manily be free riding big slides and all that and a few downhill and bombing runs ive found around me. Got some spare durians 83a and bones reds i may use on it, but im not quite sure. Any ideas on a good setup?

Cheers

yeah i was thinking i may go with the randals 42 now, how do they ride you know? hahah wow they must be weak as if you core them that fast. but cheers mate ill look into wheels now.

might see about some otang 4prez

best place to buy cannibals?
a skate shop that has them... maybe in australia if you want quick shipping
randal 42's seem quite leany, im not a fan of leam so i dont really like but they are still very good trucks

yeah fair enough... cheers

if ur interested in a slighty more exspensive truck, u could go for a bear hybrid, for around $130 at hopkin it has a precision base plate and it has the biggest choice of base plates, from 20-55
i would not bother with bear hybrids
you either get cast or precision i say

How do you know 83a won't be a dodgy wheel as well?
Where did matthys get them?
My set of 78a are sick. Guess sometimes they just have a bad batch.

get a truck like a 42 randal or something with a low degree because the 120-y has an inbuilt wedge of 4 degrees. oh and dont get white cannibals. different batches behave very differently. i had a set i bought from matthys, loved them they lasted about as long as 88a classic thane. then i got another 2 sets from matthys and they suck donkey balls. i cored one set in a day with some fast slides... get 83a cannibals or classic zig zags

Randal 42's are nice, I have a new set you can buy? Calibers are also the nicest cast truck I have ever ridden.  44 degrees of goodness.  I rock sabre bushings (Green and purple) and don't even have to touch the kingpin to go from freeride to downhill, they are the complete package.

By the way, if you have a little bit of money, go for some classic than bigzigs.  They are the perfect inbetween of grip and buttery slide.
