How loose is too loose Fullface wise?
I recently got my first fullface helmet. Giro Remedy, the size fits perfect yet I'm a little worried the padding may be too soft. Basically the base is a good fit and fits like a normal helmet should. The chin guard feels a little looser and the padding is quite soft, my jaw just rests on the padding and theres no way of adjusting this.
I can't shake the helmet out of place, yet if i apply pressure to the chin guard the whole helmet will tilt quite easily to a small degree. Because the padding is so soft I can fit both hands under the helmet and rest them on my jaw. The rest of the helmet fits fine and if the chin guard wasnt there, it would be prob classified as a safe helmet for me.
Sorry if this post is confusing, yet its the best description I can come up with.
Also if anyone knows where I can get replacement pads for the jaw, I'll be happy. Im guessing pads fit different helmets and theres no universal thing..

Put it on - Do it up - Try reasonably hard to get it off without undoing the straps, if you can get it off, or even get fairly close, tighten it - If it seems to still flop about when the chin strap is snug, worry.

The chin strap will do alot of work holding it in place.... the fact that you can get your hands up there is a little dodge but how fast are you planning on going.... Those side pads are soft for a reason....so they squash in on your jaw without pushing your cheeks in so far that you bite them if you open and close your mouth while its on. its odd that the helmet fits bu those pads arnt thick enough :-/

Just remember, when you come off you heads not going to me shaking, if you helmets hit you heads gonna be slamming the ground or sliding along, slightly more hardcore forces at play there

My full face doesn't really shake but can me moved up and down a little when on. If it ain't coming off when done up, don't worry, a helmet will protect you if it covers your head!

I'm no expert on fullface helmets for motorbikes and skating, but I do a lot of mountain biking, and if a MTB fullface moves around at all it can cause a lot of problems with vision, focus and safety. Just my 2 cents on the matter.

Yup same here my experience is only with downhill MTB and motocross helmets. Try get it tight if you can otherwise ride with it and see what happend
