Hi all.
Recently the last few months i've been getting into cruising around my local neighbourhood with a mate and its been real fun. I've learn how to carve and brake and thats about it. I've been riding a 25" board and now i'm looking to go a bit bigger.
Right now i just want a more comfy cruise and perhaps a board that'll let me carve the heck out of a hill. My budget right now is around $200 or less. I was thinking about getting a board from www.skateboardexpress.com.au as they have some good looking, cheap longboard/cruisers.
I was gonna go for this 37" model. http://www.skateboardexpress.com.au/fatburner-longboard.html
Thoughts?
Any suggestions for what I should get for my budget? I'm a real novice with brands and all that!
cheers
dan
in my opion the skateboard express boards arnt too good at all
your better off spening that extra $50 and you could get a very good earthwing complete shipped. It would be way better for everything and you will feel way more confident going a bit faster and if you want also gettting into slides and stuff.

look at any of them all very good and way better quality for only a little bit extra
you will regret it if you by a cheap one and really start getting into longboarding
200 or less is a little low for a new board. Earthwing have setups for about 240 shipped. Otherwise check out marketplace, second hand decks might not sound appealing, but its better than skateboard express and will lead you in a good direction
you could get a carbon superglider compelte shipped for like 220 and thats like perfect for him by the sounds of what he wants

Hey guys another board i've just come across is the Riviera Rincon http://www.skatewarehouse.com/Riviera_Rincon_Longboard_Complete/des...
Is Riviera a decent maker?
i know everyone goes on about buying from local stores
but the thing is alot of people like us money is a big deal and it is much cheaper to buy overseas
check out eathwing boards on:
http://stokedskateboards.com/ this is properly the cheapest store
but also check out longboardskater.com socalskateshop.com daddiesboardshop.com
and the shipping is generally 7 buisness days to australia which isnt too bad

Yep, don't bother getting a cruiser board if you can only get one deck. It'll get boring real fast. Buy a freeride setup for sliding and decent DH speeds. A freeride board will carve and cruise but will give you more options for progressing where a cruiser deck won't.
Don't get hung up on buying brand new. Find a good second hand setup and get more bang for your buck.
i reckon just go with some paris 180 and abec 11 flashbacks
the flashbacks are real easy to slide when broken in and have very good grip for carving and a bit of downhilling
the slides on the m are also really quiet which is good
