If you read it it didn't say he was bombing some 150k hill in outerspace. It says he was hitting the same run he'd already done twice and forgot that in canada you drive on the right.

A compound fracture is one which the bone pierces the skin- I'm guessing by the nature of his post he did not have compound fractureS....cause that would be completely fucked.

Vincent, I think he did. He was travelling at 60kmph at least. The SUV tank would have been doing 50kmph. They collided. A lot of damage is going to happen. If they are putting in pins and rods in multiple operations I would say it is compound.
For all the kids/adults that dont wear helmets out there, here is the lesson. Without a helmet Merrick would have been toast. He is sitting up in hospital giving us an account of his accident. The other skater this week that got hit by a car without a helmet is fighting for his life. Helmets save lives. Legs heal. Brains dont.
