Thanks dude :D i was going to use the logo i got you go re-draw up for me, but it didnt really suit the board with the carbon. looks good on the wood, but needed something more modern looking to go with the carbon. im really happy with the new one :D

im aiming to have it done by the weekend. i had today, and am having tomorrow off work (just had an op on my toe, and its killing me) so hopefully will get a good chunk done :D

Wow, that thing is awesome!
I love the logo too! You've got some great graphic design skills man.
Make sure you post more pics once you are finished Ash. I love the look of that beast.
Man that board is looking pretty pimpish. Rain forcast for this weekend dudes. Cross your fingers and touch lots of wood.

Peace
Dani
Damn Ash, that looks nice. If you make a bunch of them I'm sure you'll find buyers.
can anyone here with photoshop skills make up an aussie downhill logo. my back window is crying out for a nice sticker
thats a good idea kristian. I'm sure leady will. he loves to do that sort of stuff.
ash, how much did the cf set you back?
Not even vaguely skate related, though I'd show it off anyway.
Lost-wax cast, sterling silver.

i have a guy near my work that can get it for 60bucks a square meter, which compared to everywhere else is an awesome price.
ash man thats cheap for a m2 a place near me is 1 lineal meter for 30 bucks and its only 300mm wide

nicko whats your board made from sorry this shit really interest me

dave
No worries dude

Its 4mm 3ply Hoop Pine, i think Grade A which means that the glue is marine quality and the actual wood is free from knots etc. At least i think thats what it means...
For the board composition its three layers with a single layer of tri-axial fiberglass at i think around 800 grams per square meter.. Theres a layer of cloth over the top of that that gives the design.
Having the 4mm instead of 3mm means that i can get a minimum of 3 boards from a 60 buck 2.4 x 1.2 sheet.
From my next sheet im going to try and use two layers of wood with a sandwiched tri axial fiberglass core which will probably be strong enough torsionally and if it needs more strength lateraly then i can always add some uni directional..

Oh btw the board with the cloth as pictured below has about 1cm absolute max flex under my 75 kg weight and almost all of that comes from thin nose cutout... The board has really mellow concave and a large nose for practicing nose manuals.. I acknowledge that it doesnt look that pretty but this board is purely about function.

Hopefully that answered some of your questions...

i reckon it looks pretty good man. you should paint the top and sides white, then find some wacky griptape on ebay. that would make it look pretty wicked.
Yeah good idea, im probably going to use this awesome fluro green stuff, looks absolutely rad on my other board. If i can come sun ill bring it without grip so we can test it a little.
