I'm selling my original! As much as I rep the original trucks a friend wants to buy it off me, so I have some money to play around with. Anyone care to suggest good rigs for around $400??
And yeah the 8th works a lot better for me, if it's the 9th I can't come.

I'm seriously thinking of getting the new original apex 37 deck and drop-mounting bear grizzly 852's on it, and chucking on some otangs. That's about $350, and pretty much exactly what I want in terms of a slightly flexy, stable ride that I can do a lot of flatland stuff on and use for commuting, as well as take DH when I need to.
I'm calling the Hopkin guys soon and looking for other ideas as well. It'd be nice to get a dedicated DH board also but that'll be further down the line.

Yeah i saw that one, it definitely looks like a good deal.
However i'm considering that vendetta now, it looks pretty awesome.
So far it's between: rayne vendetta, landyachtz 9two5, or original apex 37.
I'm leaning towards the apex cause of it's flex, but you can drop-mount the vendetta and 9two5.
Ideas on good trucks? the bear grizzly's are awesome in my eyes, but as i've never used proper longboard trucks suggestions on use of bushings would be awesome.

Have a go on a few dudes boards next sesh. There's a few vendettas about with varying truck and wheel combos, a few 9two5's with varying combinations. Those two would be far better than an apex if you're looking at getting into DH IMO. Have a bash on hen's dropspeed too. Try before you buy bro ;)
