ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

Ive started some whispers around Naccosta about having a go at 100 cones and people seem keen.

Im thinking why not time this and maybe use ISSA rules (with an asra sanction?) and call it an Australian record attempt!!!!!

There are a few ladies in Naccosta and some youngens too so maybe a couple of divisions.

With a bit of a standard...100 standard cones, any spacing must be straight line, start centre of 1st cone, finish centre of 100th cone, approved timer etc. All crews around australia could possibly have a go with results compiled on this site??

Just an idea? I have a location which i could put on a weekend up my way with some hill bombing etc or Naccosta has a few venues which will save travel for the crew.

Thoughts?

I'm up for it. A venue up your way with some hill bombing sounds good. Need a long straight hill, not too steep. That hill Pappas did it on looks crazy steep. 20 seconds is 5 cones/second, which is amazing. Maybe we need something that starts a little steep (to gain speed), flattens out (so you don't get too much speed), and then gets steeper again at the end (so you can cruise rather than pump once you get tired)?
Fark that's cookin!!
Between Alex and I we only have about 80 cones. It's gonna take the ASRA resources just to set this up 'cause I don't have a timer either.
My opinion,
Max grip is the key with constant gradient.
Adjust the spacing to suit as the course progresses to make it do-able.
It's not gonna suit everyones ability either cause you gotta be able hold on with the intense pump rythym as the speed picks up.
I'm keen!!
Mt Pano is the best location for grip, length and gradient period!
If we hyped it enough we could make it a legal day with tele crews etc.
It has the beginning ingredients to be one of those things that a few people go yeah, yeah, yeah to and then over-night the thing takes on a life of its own and grows and grows and has to be held onto to stop it getting totally out of hand and stupid; you know, a full weekender tied in with something else; say the conehead final meet (though obviously next years so as not to move this years) or something similar....with a TV crew comes coverage, with coverage comes local and national advertising interest and maybe sponsorship....cuts through the set up costs; or helps make it grow a little bit bigger......."build it and they will come"
