put some epoxy in it. buy some two part araldite epoxy thing from bunnings - its supposed to be pretty good.
Work as much Epoxy (5 minute Areldite from Bunnings is fine) into the affected area as you can. A syringe from a pet shop works well, or, (if you've got a heat gun or a steam iron) heat up the area, apply glue, then cool rapidy (it sucks the glue into all the voids). After you've got the glue in apply pressure to it as best as possible, and the excess glue should come out. Leave it like that till the epoxy's cured.

Once you fix it, try putting some sort of nose guard on it, shoo goo works well, as does sugru (haven't tried it, but it looks pretty good)
thanks heaps guys!
