Hey guys,

My girlfriend is required to do an assignment on a community for university and she has chosen the long boarding community. She needs to have members of her chosen community (you guys) fill out a survey asking you what you feel the assets (strengths, skills and resources) you feel your community has and how you use these to benefit both you and your community.

Now we know no one is going to bother helping if there is nothing in it for them. So... we are giving away a $30 gift voucher to an online skate shop of your choice (we were pretty much thinking hopkin, but we will contact the winner and they can let us know if they would prefer another so long as we can send it by email)

The winner will be chosen by random out of those who fill out the survey (survey must be taken seriously to be eligible)

to give you an idea of the sort of answers we are looking for.

examples of our strengths, skills and resources are:

simple easy communication on forums, regular community events and races, people willing to teach others new skills and give advice, contacts who benefit the community, etc.

examples of challenges: publics negative views of us (trouble makers, menace on the road), laws and police, expensive gear, hard to find safe (low traffic) spots, etc.
