I think I would prefer +32. Trust me, at -32, you don't take off your gloves to change song on your ipod. And you walk fast. Very fast hahaha.

Wonder what duro my Jimz bushings are at 43 degrees (hotter closer to the black bitumen) as opposed to -32 in canda where they come from

Does anyone know if Pogo plates are cast or CNC?
I'm guessing that they are CNC because of the price. Would anyone be interested in cast pogo plates?

theyre cnc'd. you can see the tooling marks on them.

the thing to remember about pogos is that they are cnc for a reason.
precision.
casting would affect your ability to get clearly precise tolerances....for example: 42º randal plate is getting close to the height/precision of what a cast pogo would be like i reckon.....
thoughts?
the thing i like about pogo's is that combined with a good hangar (200mm true 8, or 10mm axle) it can make a topmount quite low....
add an underflush topmount//pogo on 200 randals or kooky hangars//venoms//....(flavour wheel)....sounds like a sick topmount setup...
i'm still interested to talk to AJ about the katana- though i need a new helmet before i need a new board....

The only reason i was asking was because there seems to be a genuine need for cheaper drop up plates. I have a few friends who know how to do the whole home casting deal.
I see your point about the precision of cnc, but if the cast is done properly from a cnc rapid prototype then wouldnt the tolerances be similar to randals? Which the majority of longboarders use.
If people want a precision setup they are unlikely to use cast plates.
Good point about the 42* plates being roughly the same height. It looks like theres probably only 5mm of differece.
Food for though i guess.

the Katana was an avenger that AJ offered to modify....he rides one himself and offered me one at standard avenger price...
as for the 42º randals...they are a good plate, and they are pretty low...but i still agree someone needs to make a LOW cast plate....
those 5mm difference can mean a lot- i don't know about you but i feel the difference between the ride height on an evo on kookys and bigz (75div2=37.5mm to axle) Vs. an evo on kookys and 85mm hawaii K's;(85div2=42.5mm to axle)...
and its REALLY noticeable when you go from a 66mm wheel on a topmount with randals to a 75mm....but really- how many people ride topmounts with 75mm wheels all the time? ....i reckon not many....

I recently talked to my dad about doing this as a kind of project, and we reckon it wouldn't be too hard. (I've done the research, and have CAD skills etc.) but if we were to make a limited production run, he thinks we would need to have some insurance etc to cover our asses if anything went wrong.
This is best directed at Kooky, do you have any kind of insurance etc?
Also i can do basic stress testing.
