The Oz Outlaw Nationals are underway!
How will it work? - At suitable Outlaw races, all placings will be recorded and points awarded to be tallied up at the end of the season to determine an overall champion (much like CHC).
As the number of races in a season can vary, an individual's top 70% race points will be calculated. This is to allow for people not able to make it to every single race across the country.
Prizes will be awarded at the end of the season outlaw race, along with a trophy and bragging rights of National Outlaw Champion.
*Please note Oz Outlaw Nationals is not organising the races, just awarding the outcome from the collective of individually organised Outlaw Races.

don't worry about it at this stage.there will be a time trial race (for something different) at the pump station using the bungee cord in a couple of months.... as soon as i figure out a better way to pull the bungee back... Dion - good stuff. feel free to use the Oz Outlaw logo when you post the event up so everyone knows.

Trav - good work mate. You've taken the concept and run with and I applaud your efforts.
I'm stoked people are starting to organise races and events. This is gonna be a totally kickass series.
Trav - What's the timeframe you have in mind for the inaugural series? When will it finish? End of the year? Mid-year?
thanks Haggy, thinking around ending the season in March / April. which gives a few months before the new season kicks off again in July / August. Also depends on a final race date to hold the finale. Somewhere like K Valley would be perfect with the camping and party atmosphere.
MOTH won't be apart of this series as its a legit race. I was planning the time trial with the bungee cord at Pump Station as it is something different (racing against the clock would be super tough there). i didn't want to have too many races at the pump stations, maybe one time trial and one normal outlaw. it could be used as a fall back to fill a large gap between other races.
hopefully can build up a decent prize pack by the end of the season to get people motivated to get to as many races as they can.

Time trial idea sucks dude, with the bungee wont a lighter person get launched faster than a heavier one? On a road like pump station a persons weight only makes a tiny amount of difference, the bungee would give a lighter person the advantage. I personally dont think the bungee should come into play for racing/time trials, but hey, its not my call...
