Cameron, I wouldn't say that $26 for a set of precision cut, custom size, extremely slow wearing, pre-velcroed pucks is a waste of money or 'rip.' Sure anyone can make their own set of slide gloves, and I did when I first started longboarding, but you get to a point where bulky gardening gloves just won't cut it, and doing slides at 60 k's an hour destroys chopping board in a few slides. It may be hard to understand why a real puck is so much better than chopping board until you try it, but it's not only the huge difference in wear, it's also the slidiness. A bit of chopping board will grab the road and slow you down, whereas a Slippery Dip puck has massive abrasion resistance allowing the puck to slide ever so freely over the bitumen. You don't get any melted plastic build up like you do with chopping board, because the material is so much harder and longer lasting. Also with our pucks being circular, they are perfect for rotating and getting even wear, you won't end up with wedge shaped pucks and will get maximum milage out of them.

These pucks are not for lazy people, they're for people who want a performance puck! Ask anyone who has tried them, and they will agree.

Ted - Yes the sector9 pucks are 80mm, but as for the best size of Slippery Dips to get... it's really just personal preference. All the sizes we do (70, 80, 90mm) will work, but it's just what you think you'll be comfortable with. Whatever you decide, I can almost guarantee you'll be happy with. These are SO much better than the stock sector pucks. My brother got a set of sector gloves and destroyed the stock pucks within a couple sessions, then he stuck a set of Slippery Dips on and is still sliding on the same set (that was about 3 months ago).

Jack - No worries mate, just let me know when you're keen.

Dion - Good work, wicked to hear that you love these pucks and that they are much better than home made jobs.
thanks man. I may have to be picking up a set soonish because like you said the stock sector9 pucks wear out crazy fast, i've only been using them for less than a week and i've already worn off 2-3mm. cheers for the advice.

fair enough Benny i see your point and maybe they are better but once again I'll say im just letting others know that might come here of other options. So dont think im trying to payout this in any way cause im not i just want other people to have different options and try to save ppeople money were they can. Is that understandable? Or are you still not seeing where I'm coming from.
Yes Cameron I understand what you're saying - that it is possible to make your own set of slide gloves for $5 if you have an old pair of gloves and wanna look in op-shops for a chopping board. I'm not saying you can't do it, and I'm not claiming that Slippery Dips are the only way to go. But this thread isn't for discussing the cheapest way to make slide gloves. If you wanna tell everyone about your epic gloves, thats fine, but start a new discussion. Put up a tutorial on how to do it if you really wanna let others know of other options. Chances are that anyone interested in a set of these slide pucks is looking for a quality puck that will perform at a high level, and are past the home-made gloves stage. When paired with a decent set of gloves, they're not really even comparable to garden glove/hot glue/chopping board jobs. To start with - make your own gloves - fine, but once you start getting better and sliding faster, chopping board is crap, you will go through 10 chopping boards in the time that a set of Slippery Dips will last.

So yes I do see what you're trying to say, but I don't think it's really valid or necessary for you to be saying it here.

Cameron- I don't think your understanding mate these pucks are taking a thrashing when your sliding into a corner at 80kmh. You don't want to have no puck left for the other corners. Chopping board is not adequate enough to stand those sorts of thrashings thats why Benny has created these long lasting pucks cuz he has used chopping board. When you get experienced in skating and enjoy thrashing down savage hills whipping speed checks for the hair pins at high speeds you will understand $26 is a bargain for easily 6 months out of a set of pucks if not more.

Ted- i would recommend the 80mm by 20mm i have had them for about six months love them perfect for my plam size and keeps my fingers or the road aswell.

What diameter are the Loaded Race pucks? And width? I reckon I will get a set of these after I wear mine.
I also have corian tiles, they are veeeeery smooth, worth trying.
I'm not sure Jonty. If you have a set get a tape measure and find out.
