Sydney Downhill Madness

Sydney downhill does not exist. No one skates down mountain roads. Everyone here sticks to the suburbs and local bombs. There are no good downhill runs in sydney. Everything is flat.

Please do not ask where to go skateboarding, because we dont know. We dont actually skate in sydney, we all ride scooters...

Hi guys,

I am french and I arrived about a week ago. I am freshly instaled in Dee Why.
I am practicing downhill skate, streetluge, classic luge as well. You will find some of my videos here

I brought from france my DH board and my leather. Gloves and are on their way, for the shoes I will just need a piece of tyre, but what I don't have is a helmet. I am used to a motor bike helmet (prior safety vs confort), so that would work for me but I may go for something more in shape for skate. Could you advise me somewhere where I could get one?

I will be happy to meet and join you for cruising or downhill sessions as soon as my gear is ready.

Maybe some of you met me at the Grave Yard Call last year, I was part of the staff there.

Bonjour Louix, good to see you out here mate. I have DH mountainbike helmets that are cheap at my shop (Hopkin Skate) or paragliding helmets if you have lots of dollars. Alternatively I might be able to lend you one at the moment if you want to go downhill skating with us. I also have special footbrake rubber. The other guy that works at the shop (Jacko) lives near you so maybe you should get a lift with him to the skate shop one morning this week

I am working full time so the good shot would be saturday morning. I will get in touch with Jacko for a lift. That will be the ocasion to meet you and see how the local scene run.

For the helmet I will try it at your shop and we will see how it goes.

might be a bit hard to get a ride with me at the moment Louix coz A) i dont own a car B) i cant skate at the moment due to a major injury and wont be for at least a few more weeks and C) we dont usually do downhill on the weekends due to traffic.
However, there is plenty of cool places to skate around the northern beaches if your into land surfing, driveway slashing and downhill slide styles.
I live just over the hill in curl curl so if you wanna catch up for a beer let me know
