Ok here is a brand new custom deck made for Trav.
Its a dropthrough speedboard. It has a 1/2 inch drop, a very healthy concave and a symetrical shape. The symetrical shape has been moved foward on the mold profile so the front pocket really locks your foot in. The rear pocket has loads of concave but a more relaxed drop and provides an area that is great for various foot positions.
Tapered wheel cutouts and a nice sharp 80 degree edge along the platform for added grip. 32" WB 10" wide 9" middle width. Made from hoop pine sandwiched between two layers of Triax.
I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. Still a few things that need to be ironed out. Looking foward to hearing how it rides. Its getting a baptism of gnar on thursday. Its first run will be down Keira!!

What is triax??? what is the secret to get the angle on the wheel cut outs? i thought about a router but i dont know how i would control it on the curves. maybey i can under mount it on a piece of wood, making it like a bench with just the router blade sticking up above the surface and sort of angle the deck blank, it's the only way i can imagine getting it even on all surfaces, ie left and right cut out compared to front and back etc.

I just use a bench belt sander. Does take a bit of practice to get it even though

The paris trucks seem to sit with the hanger part closer to the body of the board (wheel bite) or it could be the extra drop down (12 not 6 like the last one)??? I might have to swap the trucks over or just ride it as a top mount. I am getting some green barrels instead of the yellow cones so that might make a difference. I tried sanding one of them and i hated it so much so decided not to do beast number three. I have got some advice on how to make a better gloss coat next time. So no sanding, yay!!!
beast number two is down with Jacko at the moment initial feedback is good, but he had only stood on it stationary, so fingers crossed he likes it.
I still have not ridden beast three yet as i am waiting on grip tape, to be delivered. -

board i made for josh, got a few of this model to glass right now, to much work on though?
It is "meant" to be "LIKE" an avenger cause everyone likes to ride them, from what i have heard. But i made that outline from a stencil i drew free hand with a ruler, a pencil an four bits of A4 paper stuck together with masking tape. I plan to use that out line a bit, cause i think it looks cool. One day i would love to see an avenger in the flesh so i can compare, but will just stay in my little box and try to make boards.
If your wondering about the "bird of prey" name. Check out this clip. This bird has the best tuck of any animal on the planet. As a longboarder why not take inspiration from nature.

At about 16 seconds in you can see the shape of the bird in tuck and that is where the shape of the board and the little tip on the nose came from like the beak of a bird. They record its speed at 170 mph on that day and over 200mph later when the cameras are not there, thats over 300kph. does your head in if you think about it. -

Yes 4mm bamboo. Not to bad in the press, some small splits that filled up OK. Will do it differently next time though, it is a lot stiffer than I anticipated
