Rain Wheels
i was wondering if i should turn my seismic speed vents into rain wheels for MOTH this weekend it would be great if u gave me some help????

Is it the search bar you can't see? its at the top right in the blue area of every page you are on or there is a forum seach bar on the forum page. Ideally you use a lathe and cut 3 treads at equal spacing on your wheel
If you don't know anyone with a lathe you can build a poor mans lathe by fixing a drill to a vice. Fix the wheels on a bolt so that it does not spin and stick it in a drill. When the wheel spins in the drill cut 3-4 deep grooves in them with a blade.
You should not need to footbrake and your ability to do it in the rain is minimal but remember that riding on wet road slows you down. moto gloves are fine

if you wanted to turn wheels into rain wheels you would need a big setup on a Lathe, theres no point in doing it half assed coz then you will get half assed rain wheels, and when your riding in the rain you want 100% confidence you are going to have traction, not half assed traction. Also just having rain wheels will not give you full traction all the time, theres a lot more to it than that, you have to be able to keep your balance and weight centered over your wheels while turning because there is still the chance of loosing tracing. Rain wheels dont automatically grip for you in the wet, theres work to be done to make them work. Also if there is patchy water, they wont work. The grooves only work if there is standing water on the road and its bucketing down with rain.
Your better off to get a set of slightly used wheels that are a little bit coned but still round. If the wheel is fresh and shiny its going to be slippery as all hell, if that top layer of shine has been taken off from a few slides and is pretty gritty and rough, then thats the ticket

well i have an idea of how im going to do it on a laith... but jako the only other wheels i have are new purps inheats so i was just thinking that i should make some and i was wondering if it would be worth it...

people dont use them anymore coz they are the slowest wheel on earth. max speeds of 70... MAX

probably not worth it, save your wheels. if it rains then it rains i doubt your going to have much more of an advantage racing other groms in the rain, coz face it, who there has had race experience? let alone racing in the wet?
it probs wont even be wet!
