ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

well i was going to post this on the fish but everyone can be so mean over there with their rude comments about the search function and everyone here seems genuinely nice :)

so anyway i have a dervish but school has started and for the next 10 or so months i will be skating to and from school. so its an arbor pocket rocket deck. and at the moment i am running gullwing alpines (the old crap model) and some chunked 66m abec 11 strikerz. now i want some good truck reccomendations for hard turns and throwing out some little slides. might try to ollie or hit up a bowl everys so often but im not too sure. my cousin rides his mini with paris 180 and speed demon wheels and it gives a nice feel but i was just wondering if there were standard trucks (not reverse kingpin) that would be better suited to a 28 inch board. for wheels just somethign that will roll for a while and slides well. the wheels i have at the moment arent that bad but if theres a really good wheel for minis let me know.

thanks for any advice. oh and whatever it is i would like to buy within australia so try and suggest stuff i can get from either ado hop or boardshop.
p.s. i have bought from boardshop like twice and cant remember the guys name. i think it was simon or dave, could someone please tell me so next time i talk to him i dont just call him boardshop guy

erm yeah, a 28 inch board is suited to narrow trucks depending on how wide it is. i.e-indy 129/ tracker rtx/s, bennets etc
yeah the board is pretty narrow. ok ill look at those trucks. i want something that turns well so i can pump and carve so if anyone has experience with these trucks please chip in
Jack,

Stephen is correct about the trucks, Indy, Tracker, Ace or even Randal 125's.

Tony is the guy at Boardshop.

Cheers mate

some small alligators maybe? i have never used them but i have heared good things
so are you riding the dervish or the Arbor? if its the Arbor try a set of tracker Rts/x trucks. those things rock for shorter boards and give you a sweet 'surfy' feel... otherwise a set of bennetts, they are mega turny and have great lean for trucks that arent 'reverse kingpin'. as for wheels Retro make 66mm wheels or you could get a set of o-tang Fat Frees, they are 65mm... if you want something harder to ride in the pools and parks then look at the Rainskates Tsunamis they are about 85a and are really great cruiser wheels and rip in bowls and ditches, a great mix
riding the arbor to school. the dervish already has randal 180;s. thanks for all the advice. ill look at getting some tracker rt/s rt/x everyone seems to agree they go well. and 66mm retros sound appealing so ill have a look at them.

that looks like the cheapest option cause of wheels and bearings but i have a quetsion first.
are bennets actually any good these days or do people just recoomend them cause they were the first truck ever?
on the site it says they still use the same design as when they started so im thinking perhaps something like tracker would be a bit more advanced? i looked at tracker rt/s rt/x with retro 66m but they cost heaps more all up
i have the bennett 5.0s on my timeline and it is awesome for pumping and carving. it is still the same design because if it aint broke don't fix it :) you will be happy with either the trackers or bennetts, but i love my setup for cruising to uni and work
ok thanks :)
