it is a very shallow slope (downhill) but there is a concrete flat path alongside for picking up speed before pumping in... plenty of obstacles to keep you entertained ,)
I've never seen it fully dry though,

canberra is full of ditches, drought time provides the best, as kids we used to skate the drain from between brindabella christian school and lyneham high almost all the way to the ANU, i wish we had boards and wheels like we do now, would have been so much better, there is the old spence drains as well, plus the old insano under the tuggy parkway, follow the bike path from kambah to woden, good fun.

yeah, I lived there for a year in 1991 - spent that summer exploring drains ,)
