wouldn't the pin give a super stiff / rough ride? possibly leading to less traction?
because the bushings would now only work for turn and rebound and not for shock absorbing?

yeah a weight bearing pivot point, instead of all the weight on the bushings.... my previous question still applies..

I wouldn't be surprised if they stuck a pivot bush in the hanger and round that baseplate pin to match it.
You're right trav, it would make for a rougher ride but I'm sure they've got the heights set so the bushes take the load with an amount of pretension before the pivot bottomed out. It'd just mean you couldn't use different sized bushes, but thats no problem as most are around the same height.
One thing I noticed is a big difference in size between bush centre to axle centre. Should create a slightly better turn radius. Everyone seems to be moving away from centre set axles these days............
