Welcome to the richest leg of downhill racing the world has ever seen. During 10 days in April the worlds best will converge on Australian shores for the start of the IGSA World Tour. Riders from North America, Europe, Africa, South America and Asia will face off against the best riders in Australia for $30,000 in cash and the title of worlds best.
It will be 10 days to examine the soul of a rider and determine if they can come out on top and take the title and the big dollars, or crash in a heap.
Welcome to the Australian World Cup leg, the richest, the biggest, and the craziest show on earth.

As in previous years, in disciplines with prize money, podium finishers willl be presented with large novelty cheques. As has been pointed out there is no prize money for classic luge this year. All winners will be presented with trophies.
Feel free to email me with complaints about the cost of the event. They are what they are and won't be changing.
Haggy, thanks for the reply but that kind of glosses over my point by not allowing a direct comparison. Yeah the basic entry fee with the early bird is slightly lower but when you factor in the cost of a second discipline plus camping which was previously included and other things which have been left out, it makes a significant increase over all.
Can you please clarify the "massive cheques for all podium athletes"? There's conflicting information regarding this at present since Robbo clearly said this isn't the case. Thanks
@Nic - Entry fees are actually less if you sign up earlybird.
There has never been prize money for inline. For an extra $25 bucks to camp at Newton's you get a whole festival with some great bands. I think that's a good deal.
Regarding the lack of prize money for classic luge and inline - it says "massive cheques for all podium athletes". Does that mean there won't even be a podium presentation for these two disciplines? Or are they just presented with a novelty sized cheque that says "To the amount of nothing"?
I may sound rather cynical but that's because I am! Entry fees increase again and what we actually get for our money is reduced (ie no free breakfasts, having to pay extra to camp at newtons etc etc).
You can park up the top lookout
What's the situation regarding car parking for those wishing to drive down on the day?
Are we able to come in from the back entry of Mt Kiera Rd and park somewhere above the startline?
Priority list is now live
When will Volunteers by notified very keen but have to sort work etc
Accommodation info for Newton's Nation has been updated. We recommend those who aren't skating stay at Bathurst Goldfields. Prices and contact info on the accommodation page.
