Scratches can be easily polished out. You need some wet/dry paper, kero and alot of patience. The easiest way is to use a cloth mop wheel on a bech grinder with some cutting compound. Turns hrs into minutes of work.
I polished my smokies when they were brand new and they were nearly mirror finish. So bling! -
