Is there such a thing? I have a mountainboard but I'd like to hit the streets with something more suited to cement and bitumen from time to time without forking out the cash for a complete setup. The problem? My trucks have a 12mm axle as opposed to the 10mm I have been led to believe most longboard trucks have. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

best bet is to try some normal skate wheels (anything thats sitting around) pull the bearings out, try put your mtb bearings in and if they fit go pick up a set of good longboard wheels, if your putting them on a mtb somethin like a 107 fly would be fun i think (also similar size)
Its usually an 8mm axle on a longboard, sometimes 10mm.  Generally 8mm inner, 22mm outer, 7mm wide for the bearing so see if your bearing would match.  the space between bearings is about 10mm so you need to have less than 24mm of axle shaft before the thread starts.  My vauge memory of mountainboards is that the hubs were much wider than that.  My clear memory of mountain boards is that longboarding is MUCH more fun.  Have you considered a trade-in?

I love dirt too much to convert to a longboard-only life.

Thanks for the input, folks. Food for thought.

just stick some Tracker 219 skate trucks on your mountain board than put any skate wheel you want on it. 107mm Fly wheels are not cheap nor are they particularly lightweight, it might be better to put some major riser pads so it doesn't bottom out and attempt to use a normal 77mm - 93mm wheel
or you could just get a longboard. then you'll have the best of both worlds.
