ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

its been suggested that i have brutally ripped off the killswitch, i feel its as similar to it as a drop race is to a demonseed, the concept behind it is obviously the same and to be honest if i had not stood on a killswitch it probably would not have come about, but i feel they are two different boards like a landy evo and a kebbek caften, similar in concept but different in design.

so what does the general public here think, should i keep em comming or am i bringing us aussies into disripute?

don't be shy, i've got broad shoulders and thick skin

(olly, i already know you think glyde sucks dick, thats cool, maybe i do?)

Keep em coming pete!
I think it is
Im sorry if I offended you pete :(. But It is just what I think I like the feel of the other glydes but the topmount just isnt my thing. I probably would warm up to its concave but i love the concave on the raynes. Although posting my opinion on the most public place on earth wasnt the best idea.
Who really cares what anyone else thinks *cough* olly *cough*. But obviously they are still a success considering how quickly they sold throughout ASRA.

As long as they keep on selling, you may as well keep on making.
I think you will find that most boards from most companies will come out with various types of concave now. They will call them different things but but they will all be a similar improvement on what has come before. Somebody obviously has to do it first but that's the way innovation works improvements are made then they tend to become a type of base standard of what is to follow. Remember when the 3 fin surfboard first came out or the screw in fin. Remember bamboo first being used or when Rayne paid homage to the Kebbeck flushcut when they brought out the Demonseed. Think Randal doing a 50degree reverse kingpin truck which is now standard for longboard trucks and was a copy of the gullwing style. Nobody now call a paris a copy of a randal.

Imagine if somebody laid claim to the front kick of a deck. I remember when skateboards only had one kick. There is always a first mover in design and people make improvements and compliment the design with their own. There is only so much you can do with concave and so It would be a sorry place if nobody paid homage to anybody else stuff. I know landyachts has copied almost every sector9 that has ever been maid but I dont think anybody is winning about it. Just as the hellcat kinda looks like a hundred boards before it.

While taking the obvious good points from the killswitch the glyde still has all the usual characteristics of a glyde
Pete, as you said when I was at your place, each one is different and has its own characteristics. That is the same principal as glyde to rayne. Also pete, people have been building on other designs since inventing began. It's not like you took there name and dimensions... the wonder concave will be on many board in a few years.
none taken olly, with the attrition rate in skatin, six months time it'll be olly who?

they were my thoughts too robbo, i really didnt think i was overstepping the mark.
well it is quite a bit different to a killswitch, and i havent heard anyone talkin bout it amongst our crew,[unless its wen im not around]but we dont really care much for the nit picking over, witch is what and this board is better than that, and all the tech dribble the groms seem to be obsessive about.....its about the riding and it always will be in my book, theres lots of dudes setups[boards]that i dont like PERSONALLY but if it works for them and they shred on it,that is what matters...if your riding it well it works.....without knowing anyof the crew that is laying down the ''rippin off killswitch''calls ,id have to say that it could only be inexperienced groms that havent even ridden many different boards and are in no place to be talkin shit they no nothing about,.....
every board making company in the world has boards very similar to that other companys have....the list is huge and doesnt need goin into...........i just think certain features are becoming standard,..like the W cave....it is everywhere......for board makers to stay in the industry they have to progress with the sport and give riders what they want,if you want rad foot lock in,thats what you buy,if you want flat, thats what you get,if you want drop, dropdown drop thru or whatever else its probly out there for you to buy......its great there is an aussie alternative and we dont have to send it all overseas,...i say keep up the good work.......it is different, lots of boards have similaritys..........and if you do stop making them due to extreme pride press me a couple before its over...........
pete is a highly respected member of the d/h community and didnt come down in the last shower, respect his efforts and contributions to the oz scene................support the companys that support our sport in oz,.

until the haters are actually skating hills and shredding the gnar, their talk is cheap............my opinion!!
spot on robbo.....didnt realise it was k-rimes himself.......spose u would be like that in his shoes, thats biusness.,,,,but we could all make our own claims about his trucks.........
dont think youll put to much of a dent in raynes turn over pete, everyman and his dog now owns a killswitch..
and the way things are growing if you have a market to feed...feed it
bit of a shame tho considering him stating it ''brutal''...when you tried your best for it to not be the same, and left your glyde trademarks to it.......you could of just copied it and gave him somthin to be really pissed about

Yess indeed that. He was complaining about glyde, who have only sold a few boards out of Australia and main buisness is is in Aus. I think he should have a real think about! He must of seen the picture from moth, with Leeso riding the glyde crossing the infront of Daddow on a Killswitch.
Don't fret Pete. In a week it will be forgotten. You are making rad boards and what Rob said was absolutely spot on. The world would not be what it is today if people had not worked with, improved upon and paid homage to older designs. I think it is sad that Kevin doesn't get it. Stand your ground. You have done nothing wrong.
u better keep makin em..what else am i gonna ride..
