howdy all,

i am riding my lads atom mtboard deck which has the trucks mounted on the kick, my question is: that given that different brand trucks come in varying hanger angles, does mounting them either on the kick or the flat of the board affect this hanger angle and therefore the handling/ride/responsivness?

the trucks i am using are mtb trucks, way too wide i know, (can check out a pic of the board on my page to get an idea of the kick angle).

the lad has paris 180 trucks on his tan tien and i like the ride of that. now i am getting keen and after riding his board, i thought i might whack a set of paris 195's on the atom (not quite ready to buy a tanty just yet).. i am a big sucker too, weigh in at 110 kg hence i am using the atom, low and wide and seems sturdy enough fer my fat guts. we surfin the subbos at the mo speed/carving.

any advice would be appreciated

thanks

sb

well the paris baseplates are 50* which is a nice and carvy option. mounted on the kick will make them 60*+ which will make them turn even more. its good to be able to turn on a dime, but you loose that surfy feeling when you get to that sort of truck angle. they also start to feel less stable at speed.

see how it feels and if you don't think it will work, mount them on the flat.

i've got some paris 195's for sale if you want them

just some light scratches on the hangers but thats it been used but not abused and such 85 shipped only problem seeing as im a bit lighter than you that the bushings might be a bit loose
