FINAL UPDATE
Massive thanks to Jason, Arbi and Kookyfish for contributing great gear and making two boys very happy this christmas (see pics).
You have helped create two more like minded skaters that will spread the stoke and support the longboarding community. Their mum was stunned at your generosity and happy that I was able to teach the boys new skills (safely) on Boxing day. I taught both boys to stand and push in 30mins, including the 5 year old! They will be bombing by the end of the month (we've covered bail points and footbraking too)

Anyone else reading this - I hope you are encouraged and filled with respect for the ASRA longboarding community. Share the stoke and be a part of a movement that is positive and full of good will.

Hi Guys. I'm hoping to draw on the goodwill of the ASRA community here.
The boys that live next door to my folks are 5 and 7 years old. I've attached a pic of them playing with my boards when i visited my parents last weekend.
They are longboarding addicts in the making and love skating with me.
For Xmas I was hoping to fix up their Dad's old skateboard. Their Dad passed away at the beginning of the year - he was a mad oldschool pool board skater. His old board needs some serious work (attached pics). I just want to fix it up enough so the boys can play and keep their dad's legacy kickin.
I'm hoping some of you have some old gear that you can donate to get the board up to 'skate-able' status.
Specifically we need:
- trucks
- bushings
- grip (offcuts will do)
- wheels
UPDATE: scored two real decks (ie. longboards!) for the boys through some very generous ASRA's - just need bits and pieces for the pool board now. Thanks guys!
Can you have a look around in your cupboard/shed and see if you have anything you can donate?
Any condition gear, just skate-able. The boys dont need anything fancy.
Reply to this discussion if you can donate anything so we have a record of whats covered and what isnt. I'll pay for the shipping so you're not out of pocket. Just PM me your bank details.
On the off-chance anyone has a deck they could donate (any type), that would be amazing. It would be great if the boys could race one another down the hill on their street (i grew up doing that too).

man i just through heaps of stuff out last week , 5 old decks some old trucks/wheels etc.
I`ll have a look and see whats around .
what sort of set up are you wanting for them ?
do you have decks ?

Sam - any set up for them would be great except trick. They smash it using my longboards but because they are little oldschool boards suit their size too. I only have their dads deck to set up for them at this stage.
Whatever you can spare will be appreciated mate

Nah Chad they were Leadfoot's cubics, the bones are more old school pool deck. How's the knee?

well I have some old but good nic gullwing 180s? no kingpins sorry.
and a handfull of asorted bushings
I also have a pretty new Rayne Vice deck . might be a bit big for the kids if its just going to the skate park
but set up with the gullwings they would have a good longboard to get around on.
what do you think,
might be a able to throw in some 70mm grippens

Sam - whatever you can donate would be great. I have some old standard Randal kingpins that wld prob fit the gullwings. The boys like speed not the skate park, they live on a big hill, so any of that gear wld be suitable

I can donate complete if you want it? A kieth hollien surf stance, gullwing alpines, bearings, 70mm Zsmooth wheels. Everything in good condition, but the board is covered in stickers. Let me know? I got the deck from the hopkins, not sure if he still has pics if you want to have a look.

No problems, i will build it up and send it off by the end of the week. Just make sure you post up some pics of the boys ripping some hills.

Jason - no need to build it up if you don't have time, I can do it. I have the week off work Xmas week. Will DEFINITELY be posting pics of Xmas day bombing with the kids, they will be stoked!
