Have got the Bell version, and personally I think it's excellent. The only differance between the two is the Simpson has the vents, which was a worry regarding integrity compared to the Bell. Weight is great, vision is unsurpassed, and the price is even better. Again personally, the strength of the helmet is really good, but thats only my opinion. The Bell can be got online...Bell Pit Crew.....$79.00US plus shipping.
Is this the best shaped helmet for luge/buttboard?

Im thinking Ill get something like this for luge,... my current helmet has that mx mouthpiece, and it kind of blocks the view.
Your exactly right standard MX type helmets dont work real well
That is why they like the wedge helmets (no longer made)
You can keep your head laying back out of the wind.
I am using a motor bike helmet at the moment as it gives better visability than the MX helmets.

I did get a replay from the manufacture on this helmet
Not generaly availible in Oz but can be imported direct from US or Rocket industries there agent in oz can inport it as a special order $200 landed but will take 8-10 weeks.
they have no plans to make a visor for it.

We got the Bells, delivered to the door, within 10 days. The cut-away chin gives excellent vision, why better than the Wedge. It's like having nothing at all, and even your peripheral vision better than the wedge. US$79.00 plus postage. Having tried alot of helmets for weight and vision, the Bell Pit Crew Pro is the best I've had. Have tried Nolans, Wedges, Shoei......all good helmets, but nothing comes close to this.
Just my 2 cents.
P.S. Nick Duffield has one for sale, I think. He got the wrong size, so give him a message if you're interested.

Yeh
I like the Bell also
Just found this one when looking on the net for what else is availible.
The cost is more I think they have it listed as $139.99US direct from Simpson but delivery direct from US is similar.
Tyler and Sakamoto in their new Bell helmets.
