Recommended set up for a Landyachtz Evo

Hey, I'm new to long boarding and I have a Loaded Dervish with Randal trucks and purple Stims. I was looking into something more stable for bombing hills but also better for sliding. I've heard the the Landyachtz Evo had good stability for downhill but also good for sliding because of the concave and the drop. I will be carving as well.

Whats the recommended set up for a board thats good for all thee things?

Fly wheels are pretty rad for sliding/freeriding on an evo. Ask Sean if you could tryout his board when we come back in April.

the evo is a downhill machine! but Timothy has a point. its not the best for free riding. If you want a solid down hill setup that rails corners and is stable as fuck, evo with 852 bears and bigzigzs (inheats will likely have a similar effect) that things is woble proof. but i would only rock that set up if you want to go fast 60km+. Evo has is downsides, really heavy not practical to carry around, it doesn't turn very well sorta like a small turning circle even with lose tucks, really cant or shoulden't ride it backwards this causes trouble for free riding. and ill also backup that recommendation of the 925 sweet around deck mad freeriding and is still quite capable of bombing hills a few friends have it.

Isn't the 9two5 similar to a Dervish or a Rayne Vendetta?? Is it stable? I've found I get speed wobble and instability on the Dervish early. My mate Thomas who replied as well has a Vendetta ad he says he feels pretty comfortable going at the the speeds that I couldn't go...

evo is a sick deck, if you know how to set them up so its not over wedged in the front.

 

evo has a wedging setup as follows

+15 front -15 back,

this means there is 30 degrees of turning bias in it already, it also means that if you put a 50 degree plate on the front its going to ride like shit because you will be on a 65 degree front truck, put something reasonable on the front like and when you account for the 15 degree wedge you end up with 3 real choices with randals

28 (over all 43)

35 (over all 50)

42 (over all 57)

i personally ride a 35 on the front of mine, i like a 50 degree front truck

Now on the rear is you want to throw something abit more turney. most guys go for one of the following

60 (45 over all)

50 (35 over all)

or you can be oldschool and just run randal DH trucks  (160mm 35 degrees) which is what the board was built around.

What about getting a switch and setting it up 45/45 or something. Is the concave different or is it pretty much the same?

never listen to sean meany about evo setups... barely anyone rides like that. just him... thats a terrible setup.

stop trying to confuse the boy sean...

 

put some trucks and wheels on it and go buddy! it will feel great.... NEVER listen to sean

jacko have you ridden one my boards in the last 12 months? dont worry, you will get where i am coming from about the 35 when i am up your area, trust me mate, 12 months of fucking around with a calculator, wedge riders and a big bag of baseplates has made me learn what works

evos are made to have hella front steer and minimal at the back... if u want even trucks, get a diff deck.

your right michael, but who is going to run a 65 degree front truck for DH? i have tried it, it felt like shit, regardless of how low my back was, turning bias is dope, just not with a 65 degree front truck
