ASRA - Australian Skateboard Racing Association

this is just to test the water, but how big a prize (cash or other) would it take to get some Auzzie dh'rs over to NZ for some racing. With the recent formation of GravitySportsNZ we're on our way to finally organizing some legit racing over here in Aotearoa. So lets hear your thoughts

i would have come to that Queenstown race but im still recovering... its not really the incentives for winning its the cost of a ticket to get there that could be the problem...

how bout getting some NZ riders over to oz?
If its legit and the hill is awesome Aussies will travel and in numbers. You don't need to create prize money at least not at this stage. The air tickets are about the same as a ticket to Townsville but with a bit of added tax.
what he said^^^^, also the more notice given the better, three months would be good at the least
mt rapeyou looks pretty fun!
i dont really think most dh'ers r in it for the money.
its more the stoke and gnar!
i could probably wrangle a trip to new zealand, be easier then getting over to europe or canada!
I'd be keen to hit up a race in NZ, like the others, prizes aren't the big thing, as long as the hill is sweet, and there is heaps of riding, you'll get people for sure
We're a ways off from holding a race on 'mt. rapeyou' as we'd need upwards of 1000 haybails(prob more). I'm gonna organise another NZ sk8 tour like HighGradeSafari for the coming year that will coincide with one or more races.
And Jacko, we sent 4 guys to Newton's last Nov, 4 out of 4 million is not bad. Plus Kiwi's are only now starting to see wot a gold mine of sick hills there are in NZ. And yes we will give a minimum of 3 months notice.

i guess i didnt really get to meet the NZ crew, seeing as i was buzzing around in a wheelchair the whole weekend high as a kite yelling TIMMY!
Fair enuff. good on ya anyway, I'd have done the same.

1000 bales isn't too bad, love to have a WC event in NZ to go with the Australian leg
1000+ bails and 7 min races, could be very intense. we'll see.
You don't want a race to last for 7mins mainly because you have to marshal the whole track. Pick the best 2.5 to 3.5km section than you end up with a 2-4min race.
