Hey guys,

I have a friend or two looking for a cheap first first board. Would anyone know how one of these ride? they're going for 130 + 15 on ebay. I'm thinking for a complete, you can't really complain.

Def go cheap deck.
If he ends up hating longboarding (unlikely, but possible) he won't care that he only spent $130. if he does gets into it, he'll be all the better when he gets on good equipment. Remember your first board will get thrashed, imagine if it was a $400 dervish complete spearing towards a gutter, taking a chunk out of the nose....
I say go for an el cheapo. I started on a $70 ebay pintail which was wicked to get into longboarding. I thought it was the sickest board ever, coz I didn't have a clue about longboards. Used it for about 6 months and was loving it so upgraded to a Dervish. You can't really go wrong, as long as it has a big deck, and some big wheels.
btw, thanks for the offering the boards though its probably out of his "pre-addicted-to-longboarding" budget. Another friend might be interested tho, i'll ask and see what she thinks. (yes! its a girl! omg!)
well if it is the same board as the vault (it looks like it is) then the ride isnt anything great. my friend had one and when he first got it, we all loved it, it was THE shit until we started to learn about longboarding a bit more. and the board quickly became 'shit' but its a tank. and theres no way we could damage it. its a good board to start on considering its not expensive.
true that! who doesn't trash their first board? lol.. at least a little..

Hey,i also wanted a cheap first board, i just bought the drop down 40" a few weeks ago, its really smooth, cant complain really, its really good for the price. I say go for it if you dont want to spend much money, and afterwards buy a pro one.
